You know game dev has a culture problem when you have to warn about 'controversial opinion' for saying that your team should save some time to rest and eat during the game jam

Yes, it was a horrible experience not to sleep because I wanted to finish early, but my awesome team convinced me to sleep and fix it in the morming. Mental breaks are important. BTW we made this on this year's global gamejam : globalgamejam.org/2018/games/zeit-geist

unfortuantly no. because i don't have a team and i used to work alone and i made some games alone so i didn't get the chance , but if get the chance i'll take it insha'a allah .

maybe about : " how to get money from your game without obliging people to pay" or "how to find the best game idea " or "how to make MOD's or your game" or "how to sail your project to a big company" or (this is my favourite) " how to make a game dev team on the web "

watching this in 2020. I have participated in the TriJam (3 hour game jam) on the last 3 weekends. check out my time lapse videos of developing as a solo dev. game jams are awesome and this video is great! lots of valuable tips and hints. but especially when working on a team I would definitely plan for a little more time to fit everything together (replacing black box art, align sound effects, ...) and you should plan at least some time to playtest before the final touches are done. good luck everyone on your next jams!

I participated in-house game jams (48 hours) with small teams (3-4 person). I also regularly have a monthly game jam, I do stuff mostly alone for that, music provided by a friend, and my girlfriend helps with smaller tasks. I have a page where I put some of my stuff, with pictures, or gameplay videos, some of those have playable versions too. :) Those are even prototypes, or I left the idea after the jam, I don't think any of them can be considered a finalized gameplay experience. pixelkrajcar.com/

except it is the biggest, last year had 47000 people make 9000 games. gmtk is the largest on itch but it's still considerably smaller than ggj or ludum dare

my objective in a game jam is to create and learn, i tried to participate in one(wowie jam 3), but i failed on making the game mechanics, i really had a creative block and coudn't think about other idea and i didn't even started to give the game a face. after some studying i'm going to participate on other jam, i hope this time i can do it.

Can you please do a more in depth video on marketing? The one with music is kind of meh and doesn't really explain how to get exposure. Also, please stop adding music, as I said before it makes the videos unwatchable.

#MrGoatsy Thanks for the feedback. This video was more focused on game jams - so I cant understand why it didn't answer your questions on marketing exposure. We're working on a marketing video so we'll reach out once its ready for release!

Please don't add background music, a tutorial shouldn't have music unless it is a tutorial about music.
