I didn't know much about Game of Thrones before seeing this video, and because of that I didn't have much investment in the story. However, I recently decided to start reading the books, and all I can say is what. The. Fuck. The very first chapter, literally the first taste we get of the story after the prolouge, is about Jon Snow getting his dog. That's how the story starts. That pupper was so important to George that he opened the story with it. It gets worse though. I assumed that the dire wolf was just a loyal companion to Jon and nothing more, but it's so much more than that. In the book (I haven't seen the show so I don't know what's been changed) there was a whole litter of dire wolf pups, and at first there appeared to be five. Jon convinced his father, lord Stark, to keep the pups because there were three males and two females, the same number of children Stark had born in wedlock. Jon internationally left himself out, saying he was not a true Stark. Demeaning himself so that the doggos had a chance at life. But then, a sixth pup was found, one that was albino, and unlike the others had already opened its eyes. This was more than just another pup. This was JON'S pup. The albino skin set it apart from the others, and also meant that it had worse chances of surviving on its own. The members of Stark's household looked down on it, but Jon took the dog into his arms, saying "This one belongs to me". Think about that for a second. Just seconds ago, Jon humbled himself so that his siblings of higher birth could have wolves of there own. Then, a special wolf pup appeared, distinct from the others, it's white skin almost mirroring Jon's shameful surname of snow. The book makes it explicitly clear that these two are meant to be together. They have a bond that goes beyond friendship. It was fate that brought them together. Just think about what it must have meant for Jon in that moment. The mere existence of this pup validates him as a child of Ned Stark. It serves as a sign that he is special, and that he survives against all odds. Not to mention that the dire wolf is the symbol of house Stark. This wolf is not just a companion. This wolf IS Jon Snow. In short, I'm literally only one chapter into the first book, and I can already see ways that the showrunners screwed up the characters beyond repair. Jon would never abandon his wolf, Jon would never leave without saying goodbye, and the writers have shown that they didn't even try to understand the source material. What. The. Fuck.

Gendry wouldn't even be a "Waters". Since he was not a recognised bastard, he'd have no surname. Robert's only recognised bastards in the books had surnames - Mya Stone, and Edric Storm. The rest were not recognised and had no surnames.

The excuse of "patting Ghost goodbye would be too expensive." Isn't founded in reality. There is nothing to it. Give me a green screen and the Wolf/Husky that Ghost is played by and Kit Harirngton and I'd have that shot done after 10 minutes in the editing room. There is no CGI involved. And getting Ghost to "react" the correct way isn't an issue. Getting a dog to react like it's being petted when it's being petted is surprisingly easy. Own up to mistakes D&D.

Maise Williams: "I immediately thought that everybody would hate it; that Arya doesn't deserve it. The hardest thing is in any series is when you build up a villain that's so impossible to defeat and then you defeat them. It has to be intelligently done because otherwise, people are like, 'Well, [the villain] couldn't have been that bad when some 100-pound girl comes in and stabs him.' You gotta make it cool. And then I told my boyfriend and he was like, 'Mmm, should be Jon [Snow] though really, shouldn't it?'" Kit Harrington: “I was pissed. I was pissed that it wasn’t me killing the Night King,” Kit Harington shared. “I would’ve bet you thousands before we read the finals.” Lena Headey in an interview with EW: "She’s destroyed every good alliance, connection, love in her life - she was always destined to be alone. And until the very, very last minute, she is, as ever, in denial of what’s actually happening. (...) I wanted her to have some big piece or fight with somebody." Conleth Hill on his feelings when he got the scripts: "Mixed, obviously. Part of you didn’t want it to finish. Part of you is, “Oh, that’s very good.” And part of you is, “Oh, that sucks.” (...) I was very bummed to not have a final scene with [Littlefinger]. I was bummed not to have any reaction to him dying if he was my nemesis. That’s been my feeling the last couple seasons, that my character became more peripheral, that they concentrated on others more. That’s fine. It’s the nature of a multi-character show. It was kind of frustrating. As a whole, it’s been overwhelmingly positive and brilliant but I suppose the last couple seasons weren’t my favourite. (...) Last season and this season there were great scenes and then I’d come in and kind of give a weather report at the end of them - “film at 11.” So I thought he was losing his knowledge. If he was such an intelligent man and he had such resources, how come he didn’t know about things? That added to my dismay. It’s now being rectified with getting a great and noble ending. But that was frustrating for a couple seasons." Emilia Clarke on Dany's character shift: “What, what, what, WHAT!? Because it comes out of f*cking nowhere. I’m flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming. (...) It was a f*cking struggle reading the scripts. (...) I read these scripts coming on to two years ago now. When I did, I took a very long walk around London in a daze, not quite knowing how to digest the news. Now, finally, people are going, “Oh, now we understand why this season hit you hard.”

Just a quick reminder that the Night King changed actors because they wanted someone who could fight with a sword...... 😑😑😑

The first NK was a better actor.

The stuntman they used to play the NK is the same guy who did arthur daynes fight scene at the tower of joy. m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a8d_kqak1symcaM.html

I'm kinda getting the feeling Mauler didn't like the way Jon treated Ghost.

I don't understand. I may be slow, but I didn't pick that up at all. Was it in some sort of code?

It was very subtle, so it was easy to miss.

He used a great combination of symbolism a play on words and dare I say visual presentation. To possibly hint at his potential views over Jon and ghosts interaction. Very deep indeed.

Give me chills hearing Tyrion trial and Tyrion threatens cercei “a day would come when you think you are safe and happy and your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth, then you will know the debt is payed”.

25:42 the scorpions also can't shoot at the back of the ship, because the sails are in the way. All she had to do was flank them and have a free pass.... with 2 dragons she could destroy that fleet in one swoop....

@@damp2269 Dude,we're talking about a show, where light cavalry attacks the enemy head on,in the middle of the darkest night in ages, without knowing the enemy's numbers, get's completely massacred by said enemy forces and then, next episode, miraculously half of them are still alive and ready for another battle! These idiots must think, war is like playing a RTS,where you can respawn units for the next mission. Not to mention, nobody has an understanding of the concept of a castle. The whole point is,to put walls between your enemy and yourself and defend said castle,on top of the walls, not outside them!
