Being more of an old school retro gamer, I’m usually in agreement with Sam, and the Castlevania Collection was also my highlight of the Direct, but I have to admit despite me not really being a Kirby fan that new game looked pretty cool.

Sam doesn't care about a big new 3D Kirby game?! That was the best Nintendo direct in history my dude. Seth Rogen as DK, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike, Jack Black as Bowser! The list goes on. What an exciting Nintendo direct. For real, the Kirby reveal blew my mind. Best looking Kirby since Super Star. Speakng of Star(lords), Chris Pratt bringing in the viewers and hype with his "star" power for Mario. Anyways, I paused to make this comment. The hype is real for me anyways.

Call me crazy, but I tried that Square-Enix card-based RPG demo on Switch yesterday, and it did not seem to actually be a card-battler. It seemed more like it was a pretty standard JRPG that was just *themed* around cards aesthetically. You don't have a deck or draw a hand of cards or anything when you fight. You just choose your character, choose your spell, choose your target, like a standard turn-based system. I only played for an hour or so. Am I crazy?

Kotor was an amazing announcement for the switch.

The insert in the Nintendo power was a catalog where you could use points to get different merchandise celebrating the 100th issue. I remember saving up my points and used them to pick up a gold 100th issue N64 controller

Don’t really see a problem with KOTOR being announced for Switch. The remake is only on PS5, so for those who don’t own a PS5 it’s great. One of the few highlights of the Direct for me.

Kirby Return to Dream Land, Triple Deluxe, Planet Robobot... Nintendo released tons of amazing mainline Kirby games back to back before Star Allies, which was more a co-op focused fan-service heavy outing. So yeah I'm very excited for the new Kirby game.

There is no way the expansion pack will be double. It wont be more than $10.

The Mario movie announcement was genius actually. It got tons of publicity both in social media and traditional media. Not to mention the clips of streamers dying from laughter … everyone’s talking about it and a lot are actually hype even if it’s just to see if it’s a train wreck. With that cast it could be hilarious or a shit show but people will watch. Also sounds like some of the actors are genuinely excited to be involved because it’s Mario.

Hmmm strange I was super excited to see KOTOR come on Switch. If the new Xbox consoles can have it why not then? Besides the remake feels like a long way to come out like most Sony games. So its lovely to get a chance to return to the original via Switch

The KOTOR comments I think are weird from y'all as it is widely regarded as one of the best Star Wars games and games of all time and they just announced a remake that is for sure a year or two away so why would they not create a whole new audience for it on a new platform with a ton of younger players. you guys just gave it away. ive read numerous speculations about how real life people get sucked into the mario universe when in actuality it makes perfect sense for them to start with charles martinet as marios grandpa saying [in a mario impression] "mario, i promised your dad i would look out after you. but you dont want to learn the trade of becoming a plumber. whats the matter?" and young mario in chris pratts hardly changed voice "you worry to much grandpa. cant i figure that out when im older?" then gramps passes away and leaves the family business to mario who grows up and eventually discovers the mushroom kingdom which takes over his world and he uses the family business to recruit help to stop bowser. fin
