THE REVERSE COWGIRL LMAO YOU OUTTA POCKET FOR THAT ONE SIS I gotta say though, it’s so nice to come across a SAHM who seems well adjusted and exists in a relationship that is healthy, well balanced and based on mutual respect. With the tradwife movement being what it is (based on super oppressive religiosity/gender norms) it’s nice knowing that a healthy dynamic CAN exist when people want to model their relationships in this way.

I love the tradwife movement ❤️❤️. There's just so much negativity surrounding being a housewife and SAHM that you're giving your spouse leverage to mistreat and abuse you. My gosh it's so toxic. I love being a SAHM (yes I had a career before 🙄, no I'm not uneducated and I have a lovely husband who never complains about being the only one working). ❤️❤️❤️.

@@scholasticbookfair. uh, yeah the tradwife movement is toxic af and you love it? You may not like it but the truth is that being a stay at home parent does give the earning partner more leverage to abuse and control you. I’m not saying that always happens by any stretch but there’s a reason the past generations of women just grinned and bore all kinds of horrific things *because they had no choice.* You can be a stay at home parent without subscribing to all the religious, misogynistic bs that the tradwife movement brings to the table. We’re more than just baby makers and homemakers.

I’ve always been genuinely curious about the finance situation for SAHMs who are *only* homemakers. Do they get an allowance? I imagine there are budgets for food, entertainment, etc. I’ve always wondered how gifts worked. Like the way Alissa saved her money makes sense, but how do other SAHMs manage it without a job?
@humansomewhat2167
@humansomewhat2167 4 ай бұрын
I would say most SAHMs have some sort of budget, if they don't then the relationship is not a good one and it would result in the mom working anyways to help support the children's needs. You cannot fully support a family on government assistance and that's not even easily available to a mom who is married to someone with income because the gov takes into consideration how much the husband makes then. depends on the couple whether the breadwinner just has the one shared account. My parents have the shared account that automatically has a portion of my dad's paycheck deposited into it, as well as my dad having his own separate account and using that for savings from there too. I guess it just depends on the couple's trust for one another, in terms of how financially responsible the other typically is.
@gaming_foodie
@gaming_foodie 4 ай бұрын
FOR ME WHEN I WAS A SAHM, I had a credit card that was paid off every 2 weeks or every month. I spent as I pleased but have always set a budget for myself on groceries and household necessities. Dining was always done as a family so we never budgeted BUT we agreed to only dine out 1-3 times a week . Entertainment was the same.. never budgeted but again, we only did it 1-3/ week as a family. If either of us wanted to buy something over $100 FOR OUR SELVES that was a WANT (not a need), we ran it by the other person to make sure we don’t have any other big bills we need to prioritize first.

I have my own accounts, plus our joint account. My husband added me to his job’s payroll, so whenever he gets paid I automatically get a deposit as well. I have access to our joint account for whatever I want to use it for, whenever. He also hands me cash randomly sometimes. We have health insurance, life insurance etc and I am not being financially abused like so many people assume of SAHMs. It’s a blessed situation ❤️

Let people eat their food however they want to. Edit: and i call it blood just because it's red. I know how it works in a butchery. If you and your husband had to pay someone to come into your home daily to do the things you do, how much do you think it would cost? It would cost a lot. The money your husband earns is for both of you, and you should consider it as such, if it’s a problem, check fees for someone, or actually several people to come to your home on a daily basis that will do what you did and you take a job outside the home if that’s what it takes for your husband to understand your worth and for you to understand your worth. Then you won’t need to feel that you are spending his money on him, but rather y’alls money. I didn’t work outside our home for several years, only went to work part time because all of my friends went to work, but I always considered my husband’s paychecks to be for us, and I bought him many gifts with it, we put all of the money earned by him and me when I went to work in a joint checking account or joint savings account. We didn’t have to explain purchases to each other, but as far as big ticket items went, we discussed those purchases, neither of us would just willy nilly go out and spend thousands. Please consider changing your thinking about your importance and contribution to your household. You are worthy.
