Ever wanted to know how some streamers have their current music playing shown on their stream? This guide will show you exactly how to add Spotify, iTunes, Winamp, foobar2000 or VLC now playing text into your OBS Studio Scenes.

To put "enter" as separator format you type in "$$n" ^This places Artist under the song name. you're welcome ;)

Also. I have been trying to get StreamLabels to work. I want the "Recent Follower" to work properly. I already have the FollowAlert working fine but the "Recent follower" on my layout is not running correctly. Whenever i get a new follower it doesnt change the "recent follower" on my overlay... Any ideas? A response would be golden. Thanks

Anyone know why my snip won't be picking up my spotify? I'm on premium, also trying both the web player and the desktop player, neither are working. I've tested it using VLC as a source, and I can get that to work. Snip only says "Spotify is not currently running"

Make sure you're using the last version of snip which allows you to run spotify before snip, otherwise make sure you started snip before spotify and not the other way around.

You need to use an older version of Spotify if you want song info etc. to be picked up by Snip or Snaz. Unfortunately you have to re-install it every time you run a stream as Spotify auto-updates and there is currently no way to stop it. I use version 1.0.70.388 and it works with both when I stream, Spotify changed their coding and that is the only way I have found to get around the problem.

First, I was trying to play music via VLC player, but the "snip.txt" file was blank, then I tried to download and use Winamp instead and that worked. :) So perhaps trying a different player would help. Yet it depends on what version of Snip you use.

"two spaces after the artist name in snip" ....except THAT DOESN'T WORK!!! I've been trying to find a solution forever and this was the closest I could find to it, yet you don't show that part and skip over it and just say "it works" when I tried this and it doesn't work! SHOW US!!!

When you right click on Snip and change the "Set Output" option, put 2 spaces after the artist name formula. I just followed all of this and doing that in the "Set Output" menu is how you get the spaces after.

all it does is show the name of the song dude. it has nothing to do with copyright laws. if it's not your song, and you don't have rights over it, don't expect to gain off of it.

I dont know if you still answar questions, but i really need your help. When i downloaded snip and have it on my desktop, i open the folder and click on the link (Snip.exe) but the 2 files doesnt come, so i cant put it into OBS. I hope you would like to help me personally or at least have an answar to this problem. Btw, the types of the other files is called "MD-FILE" so maybe that is why. But i dont know

it seems really touchy. I finally got it to work but i'm not sure which part made it work. I went to the bottom right (near your clock) and hit "exit" on the drop down list for snip. I opened it again and the txt file populated.

You want to open the music player first, start the music and then start snip
