I've just bought a new house in the english county of shropshire, the garden is less than a clean canvas, and more like a frame on which I can mount a canvas. I'm building a Vitavia Jupiter 11500 greenhouse, setting up aquaponics and grow lights inside the greenhouse, and I'll be raising meat rabbits and chickens. Very exciting, I'm looking forward to it.

The plan is to have the fish tank in the floor, and then put decking over the top, this saves masses of growing space as opposed to having a tank sitting on the floor in the greenhouse. It also is better insulated, and doesn't look hideous :-)

Before digging up your cement slab check you tube for IBC aquaponics you can have 100 fish in the tank.

Great video Vince. What a lovely plot of land you've got there, so many possibilities. We love the Vitavia Jupiter greenhouse as it's very roomy, practical and the frame won't oxidize and go dull over time as it's anodized. I created the image by copy-pasting other images in photoshop, and I edited the video in Premiere Pro which lets me easily overlay pictures :-)

I do talk a lot Ray, but the problem is, when you talk as much as I do you start talking rubbish, and then people want you to shut up :-)

I worry about the wefare of your food rabbits. The chickens seem to have access to fresh air and exercise but would the rabbits be confined to hutches? This would be inhumane. I am a meat eater but I do not eat animals that have lived their lives reared using cruel farming practices. Please consider a animal friendy system for the animals in your care. We owe it to our culture and civilisation not to exploit animals in this unnecessary way.

There will need to be a degree of separation to control breeding (inbreeding being a major potential problem) and they will certainly have fresh air. Although their living conditions won't be luxurious, they will be better than the conditions the animals I currently eat have been raised in. I think you'd be surprised at the farming practices of even those producers who claim to be ethical. At the end of the day at least I will know how my food was raised, I will have some control over it, and I will be accountable. I won't be burying my head in the sand.

RealVinceSamios I think that's very responsible, you can raise your food according to your own set of ethical standards, cause you're right, a lot of food producers who claim to use ethical practices would surprise you if you saw how they actually raised their chickens and such. I've seen "free-range" chickens stuffed into a range that couldn't have been much larger than 4'x4' and they were crammed in there so tightly that it looked like they were walking on top of each other.
