I have had a Garmin forerunner 15 for years never let me down. I decided to update my watch your video was excellent I just needed to know the basics not a 30-minute discussion of its finer points. I will watch more comprehensive videos once I have used the watch for a few days. Thank you for taking the time to do this video.

Great review. I just upgraded from a Fitbit to the Vivoactive 4s. Love the display of the Venu but I have small wrists and was worried it would to big of a watch. Love the Vivoactive had a small option! I have really been loving the Garmin app and I am very happy I went with a Garmin

Honestly I think the Venu SQ is a direct competition and budget friendly option to the FitBit Versa line and having had both I think the Venu SQ hands down is the better watch. You can get the Venu SQ without music for only $199. Hard to beat that price with all the Garmin features! Garmin needed a line in this price range.
@SammyGeek3 жыл бұрын
Very true! Both are great watches, but it depends on what ecosystem you prefer. I love the Garmin myself, so yes, the SQ is the hands down winner.

Looks and design wise, is the venu like a chunky big watch like most watches or is it fairly small

Great video! Thank you for all this great information! I am considering getting the SQ for my wife but I really wish it had rhe ambled display. For me thats rhe real dealbreaker. She doesn't like the round watches too much. Im a huge garmin fan so I was really hoping to find one that she likes! Note- You can definitely get better battery on them both by making slight changes in your settings. My vivoactive 4 will range from 2 to 9 days depending on how I have it set. With pulse ox on, Back light turned up, gestures on Bluetooth connected at all times, its like a day and a half maybe lol. But I only connect my watxh to my ohoen when I need to, and keep everything off unless I need rhem because I value battery life over smart features.

Hi Sammy! I’m currently deciding between these two. My deciding factor is the screen size. On paper, the SQ is larger but it looks so small compared to the Venu. How has your experience been with these two screens? I want a screen that I can transition a little more comfortably since I’m coming from an AW5 and a Sense. Your input would be SUPER appreciated 👍

The SQ will definitely feel lighter and smaller. Depending on the size of your wrist of course... If you don't need AMOLED, check out the Garmin Vivo 4S

Hey, great review! The Venu is going to be my next watch, I currently have a Fitbit. Do you find the Garmin app as user friendly as the Fitbit app? Also, do you find the Venu easy to navigate and set up?

I'm in love with the Venu! The app rocks and is very easy to use. The Garmin watch isn't as intuitive at first, but very easy to use as well.

I've never owned a Garmin. I'm generally an Apple person, but I'm drawn to the Garmin. Do you know if iMessage notifications show up? Also, I've read the Venu has ECG but nobody is talking about this feature. Any experience?
@_samurai_7443 жыл бұрын
I've used Vivosmart HR, Vivoactive 3, Vivoactive 4, Forerunner 245 and lastly Fenix 6X Pro. I'm also an IOS user and i love Apple products. Yes, any Garmin watch shows up any notification comes to your phone flawless. Garmin is the number one choice if your main goal is sports and fitness. There are many health and fitness features, advanced sports metrics that no other brand can offer. Downsides of all Garmin watches; 1) Inaccurate SPO 2 readings (generally %4 lower) 2) Mediocre sleep tracking. High end models that support latest FirsBeat technology offer better sleep info. (Such as Fenix 6, FR 945, FR745) 3) Bad HR performance for interval type of workouts, Apple has far better OHR. For steady state cardio type workouts and general resting HR is good however.

Hi, I am new to your channel and thanks for your videos. I am on a similar journey as you, searching for the best smart/health watch for my needs. I’ve got more serious into fitness over the past two years, specifically cycling. I currently use an Apple Watch series 4 however I am finding very few cyclists use the Apple Watch. It seems the cycling community almost exclusively uses Garmin products. Cycling & running are my main sports. I use an iPhone for my job so Apple Watch was a a good fit. What is you opinion of the Apple Watch? Garmin is good?
@SammyGeek3 жыл бұрын
Truthfully, I know Apple watches are solid but I'm 100% an android guy...zero Apple products whatsoever. And yes, Garmin is fantastic. The best all-round is the Vivoactive 4, or Venu if you like AMOLED. But for cycling id lean Vivoactive 4. You can also check out the running watches and Fenix series for more premium materials.

The Garmin venue sq is definitely better than the fitbit versa 2 ( don’t know about the 3 and sense ) , the charge 4 has gps and is very good , I think the charge is the best of Fitbit, but Garmin I can use my polar h10 band for much better heartrate.

I really want to buy the venu, I love the anoled display and I live in Sweden where it is always cold and dark so I do not really need the transflective display. Many reviewers have said that garmin watches are very accurate and I have the money for it. But I am a fucking woman with a small wrist and I think the venu will look to big on me, and bulky, and just be heavy. I do not know what to do. I have googled on pictures of the venu on woman’s wrist and it does look big and bulky. I am so sad because the venu is everything I want in a fitness/smart watch.... What should I do?

I brought a cheap Chinese smartwatch. After two months it stopped. Give them a tick they did refund my money after I sent them a video of my watch not working? I brought a better Chinese smartwatch one day I thought I can smell something burning I went to the place I was charging my smartwatch the power lead was about to melt. I contacted them to buy a new power cable I could not find one on their site. I never heard from them again. Both watches had a couple of bugs in the software that were never fixed. I got the opinion they produced a watch wrote the software then moved onto the next model and never updated the software. I learnt my lesson and paid 5 times as much for a Garmin Venu it has never faulted the software has been updated the manual is actually in real English not Chinlish. The point is if you want to have the support and a quality product you have to pay for it. In my case this my second Garmin sportswatch I have had my Forerunner 15 for years it is still going strong. I have a footpod and a chest strap the Venu hooked upto both as soon as I set up the GPS. Bottom line is guys you get what you pay for lessons learnt.
