Yah I'll wait to mount that chrono to ur rifle, it's not designed to be mounted on the rifle , it was not designed to take recoil , it was designed to be set next to the rifle on tripod , not on bracket to ur rifle, how many shots will it take for garmin internals go out of spec or fall off ! Garmin chrono is amazing , area 419 bracket aaaaaa let's just say they are in business of selling quality overpriced accessories, but did they tested it on high recoil rifles lol

How do you get your shot data onto your PC? Without that, Garmin is maybe the worst chronograph ever. All of those others you mentioned handle this very simple function quite easily

Sounds like you convinced yourself.

Unless you need downrange data, the first time you use the Garmin you will see why you need to 'drop everything'. As long as I have a working Garmin, the LR will be a dust collecting backup.

Works really well with rimfire. This is a common question on gap but not a lot of answers as they’ve been really difficult to confuse. Can tell you 6’ is more than enough.

Did my out of the box first testing on a 50ft indoor range (pillars and posts and other target carriers downrange) using short barreled suppressed 22lr subsonic ammo. Worked perfectly. NOTE: no other shooters on the range. Still need to test under those conditions.

No, so if you are in the archery/pistol/airgun segment, this could be a drawback. This feature and a wider/more consistent detection window are at odds with one another. Think wide vs stream settings on a garden hose

@@area419 not sure I follow the rationale there. Down range velocity can be useful for checking on BC. I think ideally you’d have velocities from considerably father down range but people have used the information from LabRadar in this manner for ages. I went ahead and bought the Garmin to see what the hype is about tho. The form factor is hard to deny. I see the mounting brackets but Garmin explicitly states mounting it on a gun = warranty void. I wonder if they have an accelerometer for detecting repeated recoils or it’s just scouts honor? That said my PRS rifle is a tank, the recoil impulse on a rifle that heavy is quite blunted.

@@JamesReedy On a centerfire rifle, any BC truing would need to happen with a second measurement at a MUCH greater distance than 100y. Working with Applied Ballistics and the radar they use for BC, it's very clear that this function with the LR could be useful for a very slow projectile (Archery, pistol, airgun) but not a faster centerfire projectile. The recoil issue - we will let Garmin be the ones that address further, but it's not something we are worried about, and we don't think you should be worried either.

Mine worked perfectly at an indoor range. Didn't miss a single shot with either a Braked 7 PRC or a suppressed 6.5 PRC. I had shooters on both sides of me and it didn't pick up a single shot that wasn't mine.......

Yes, this one is ready for picatinny as is. Instead of our ARCALOCK clamp, it can accept an ADM QD like you’d find on an Atlas bipod, and go nuts.

It's consistently within a couple FPS of a Magnetospeed, which is our standard for accuracy, so we'd say it's quite good.
