+Car Horse Power But if you live in a safe state, your vote makes no difference. Voting Libertarian could get them over either the 15% and into the debate, or over 5% popular vote and federally funded. Having a libertarian in the debate this time would affect the conversation, and getting funds next time would make the whole campaign different.

That was completely different. The Republican Party was a split which combined the Whig and Free Soil Parties (the latter being a single-issue party against slavery). There is no unifying issue that he represents that would have enough pull to completely upheld the current political system. It would take something like that to do so.

***** he barely qualifies as a libertarian. For example he says that the government has the right to force a jew to bake a nazi cake.
@root-localhost77067 жыл бұрын
Gary Johnson doesn't think that businesses should be allowed to discriminate. "Nazi cakes" is an extreme example, but really it is the entire anti-discrimination argument that anarcho-capitalists don't like. They don't like the fact that white racists can't put up "no coloreds" signs on their door, not because they are necessarily racists themselves, but because they believe in absolute property rights, to the detriment of other rights. They imagine that the only rights necessary to achieve liberty are negative rights, but this is not the case if we are talking about real-world, tangible liberty, rather than the abstractions that float around in the minds of anarcho-capitalists, untouched by empirical factors. If you respect negative rights, but throw away all positive rights, you are free according to anarcho-capitalist theory, but in reality you are unfree. A black person living in an all white region who can't go to the store to buy goods or to a restaurant to buy food is, in reality, unfree. Also, under a purely negative property rights system, someone who doesn't like you could, within his property rights, buy all the land surrounding your own and then deny you passage through it, effectively destroying your freedom of movement. True liberty, in the real world, necessarily involves not only "freedom from," but "freedom to." This is what the anarcho-capitalist wing of libertarianism doesn't understand, and it is why common-sensical people who don't theorize in a Platonic realm of ideals divorced from how people actually have to live amongst each other instinctively reject it when they hear its rhetoric.

I am voting Johnson 2016 and if Americans don't realize he is the only sane vote well then I am going to finish my schooling before Trump starts a nuclear war and move to Canada.
@diametric14727 жыл бұрын
You must be a sucker for the liberal media Globalist agenda, because you obviously have a completely twisted view of Trump. Trump is respected by many foreign countries. Russia for one is the biggest nuclear power to be concerned about, and they have clearly stated over and over that they support Trump....and that they are worried about our CURRENT administration forcing them into War!!! Do your research, and you will see, most countries do not trust our CURRENT administration, Which Hillary is PART of!!!! Trump is HERE to CHANGE this totalitarian globalist government, and purge it of it's corrupt leftist agenda !!!! ....and if (just when things get rough) You want to high tail it out of this country to Canada, then maybe your nothing but a liability, and we TRUE Americans don't even want you here anyway , good riddance.

I like a lot of what he says, but I really don't like his stance on illegal immigration. Here in Los Angeles, it's a real issue. It's not just crime, which happens, but its also causing a huge rental shortage (2 million in the city that could go to citizens) and a massive amount of traffic (because they can get drivers licenses) all over the city and because LA city council is a huge supporter of illegal Latinos . We should deport all the illegal criminals asap and keep the hard working ones. That's how Denmark and Switzerland do it and they are the greatest counties to live!
@RomrotMechanikos7 жыл бұрын
I like the rental shortage. I own a house in an area with a rental shortage and I don't live there anymore, I never sold the house I just rent it out. It's a little money generator for me that almost never urns dry. I've got two different people wanting to rent it right now while I'm away for the winter. demand is awesome if you supply. B)
@andrewfreeman887 жыл бұрын
RomrotMechanikos I agree this is great for property owners but not so good for renter, which are many. However, that's only one of the issues. There are like 10 major issues related to illegal immigration.

That is Johnson's immigration policy. in another ccn interview he said he wants to make it really easy for non-criminal illegals to get a work visa. that way they can become tax paying citizens and after their work visa is up they will be sent home. If they are criminals I am sure Johnson doesn't want them in our country. He was Governor of NM I have faith that he knows what he is talking about on that front.
