@jamiedeyes30875 жыл бұрын
He'd put alot of weight, on stage towards him leaving us, his vocals were suffering, he was also starting to get lyrics wrong. When I saw him in Manchester with BB King a couple of years or so before we see him here, he messed a up a couple of songs, then didn't come out for the Encore with BB. I can't count how many times I saw him live, he was my fave and still is my fave musician, guitar player of all time. Yes he was 57 here, maybe jet lagged and very tired, but if you'd have seen him live from 2008 onwards and been a fan even since say the early 90's, then you would clearly have noticed a change. However he still managed to play that guitar as good as ever, and still play the solos note for note perfect. If you watch the 2010 concert at Montreux compared to other earlier performances then you'll see what I mean. Just being honest, not taking anything from this amazing, beautiful and soulful musician, when I heard he'd passed i couldn't listen to a record of his for a while, although I didn't know him personally, he was a massive part of my life, I felt completely empty, I'm sure you'll understand what I mean. This interview is a strange one anyway, but he does well, I loved hearing him speak. He was just a one off.
