Gary is probably glad that Ray is at Southfork, Ray kind of took his place there so he and Valene can remain in Knots Landing as much a possible.

That made no sense to me, Gary never had any intention of returning to Southfork, as he couldn’t handle the pressure. They just did this to create resentment from Miss Ellie.

What is interesting was I don't recall Gary ever acknowledging Ray on Knots Landing and I remember him saying once brothers JR and Bobby when he went to bring Val home in 1985
