listen, I literally applauded the woman in the spike 6 inch heels! LOL ... I used to wear me some spiked heels back in the 70's and 80's...and I would get down like no ones business! LOL .. Hmmm - maybe thats why my feet are all curled up and my back hurts like a mo-fo now?!?!? lol@myself ;)

Linda Holbrook ohhh honey...I’m genuinely sorry. I don’t know if anyone else could sympathize AND empathize with you on that topic. I’m almost disabled now which of course brings about depression...I literally cry because I am unable to teach my grandson how to roller skate. From the time I was 8 y until I was 17 and in the car wreck that broke my back...I skated at least 3 times a week and I was realllyyyy good. I speed skated anddd I could get down with the get down (LoL @myself...) when these songs would come on lol again Let’s just hope there really is a heaven...and I definitely hope my man Rick James is there! Cos I’ve loved him since he showed up in the late 70’s lol. And if I get into heaven...Rick better be waiting for me to sing Fire & Desire with me...not Teena Marie...again 😉 (she had him here on earth so I definitely don’t mean to sound disrespectful because that woman had a voice on her deck could send chills down your spine LOL again) BUT it’s my turn Ms Teena...cos after we are done singing we just better dance like we are the star dancers on American Bandstand and Soul Train 🥳🥰 Ahh for the good old days... Listen these younger kids just don’t know what dancing is (probably only in my humble opinion) the only time I was literally on the floor spinning is because either A... I fell cos my spike heels were slippery as heck on the bottom OR B...my darn partner dropped me!? lol again 😉 I’m just betting that you know what I mean 😉 xoxo

I actually knew James Brown as he was a close friend of my family....and he would be very proud of what you guys are doing with the dances he created....especially that you are sharing and teaching them to others so that they can continue being enjoyed years from now. Tell the instructor that he represents the moves very well and I personally believe JB would be proud.

OMG I am SO jealous! My mom actually got to meet him before he was famous. She worked at a music shoppe in Northside, Cincinnati Ohio. And she said he had the sexiest voice she had everrrrr heard in her life! LOL ... Isn't it a shame we have lost Prince, Rick James and James Brown so early in their lives? But boy o boy...the things they must have seen and done in their life times....I'm just so glad they shared their AMAZINGGGg gift with us.

Cheers to all involved with this video on keeping this spiritual funk alive. We lost Pee Wee Ellis this year, saxophonist/arranger for JB's. There is a humorous you tube video of his take on the creation of "Cold Sweat".
