Here's DIY Off Grid Stove Conversion - Natural Gas to LPG
Please check the approved gas type sticker attached to the gas appliance and make sure it is suitable for use with Natural gas or LPG.
Generally, gas connection must be carried out by an authorized person.

hi, how many turn on the screw if converting from g-20 natural gas to LPG? Also, the pressure regulator shown under the top, is it something that comes with every gas hob or we have to buy separately?

Thank you for this. Any advice on how to remove a stuck nozzle? The gas fitter can’t remove one nozzle from a new cooker. He’s tried 2 times. Thanks

Thank you for this video mate. What is the standard hob top inlet size? As looking for a female BSP Fullham nozzle to 8mm to connect the LPG hose to the hob. Probably half an inch right? Thanks very much for your help!

about turning the screw clockwise for the flow LPG conversion.did you just turn it all the way or half?thanks

There's no exact scale of turn the gas flow screw, but you need to turn the screw clockwise about half way or a bit more until you get the correct length of flame for each burner (blue flame) not yellow or orange color.

Is it necessary to have 2 regulators? One that comes with the stove and the other that’s attached to the hose in order to safely operate after converting from natural gas to propane?

Did you find an answer to this by any chance? I was thinking the same, as on a house set-up natural gas or LPG, both set-ups have two regulators, one at the stove and one at the mains/ LPG bottle.

Did you mean the electrical cable? if yes, then you don't need to worry about it as it is used for ignition only and it is not connected to the gas source or type!

Hey, any particular reason why we need to swap these nozzles and how important is it? Only reason asking because I’ve just ordered my mum a hob for her new kitchen and she lives in Sri Lanka, when I mentioned swapping the nozzles to the kitchen designer he said he'd never come across before, so I'm just wondering if this is really necessary?

Nozzle swap is required if you are changing from LGP to Natural Gas or vice versa. As LPG is thinner and requires tighter nozzle hole, but Natural Gas is thicker and requires bigger nozzle hole to work properly. If your hob is designed for LPG and it is going to work with LPG bottles, then you don't need to change anything. Thank you

I have ordered it from a well-known online retailer in SriLanka, as they don't have central gas there, I'm guessing the hobs will probably already come with the correct ones, but I'll double check. My mobile home is on Propane. There is a propane regulator right off the propane tank. Do I still need the regulator supplied with the stove?

no, one is enough as long as it delivers the correct pressure to your stove, usually it is around 2.75kPa

Ok yes, what I mean is the cord black, are we going remove it or not? Because, when I was in abroad from Italy, I bought one unit of stove, I've already change the 4 small hole orefice, Now I'am here in my country(philippines) so I want to install it, but first of all I show your demo, so I'm interested to see it, so thank you for sharing your talent, and more power again friend, God Bless.

the back cord is required to ignite the stove unless you want to use lighter or matches to start up your fire.

What is the fitting connection required to connect standard gas cylinder hose to the elbow fitting you have? Can you please advise the name/size of fitting connection on each end?

elbow fitting is standard ½ inch (15cm) Australian size plumbing elbow. You may connect your stove directly to a Gas regulator as per video which is ½ Female both sides then direct gas hose to your gas bottle or you may connect your stove to gas bottle using a gas hose with builtin regulator like the BBQ one, similar to this one: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1861/0291/products/Untitled-1_d4c05e0e-35d0-435f-9735-12d80b9ec63f_1400x.jpg?v=1527207756

Wouldn't you configure the regulator first and then the dials? Why make flame and height adjustments at the dials and then change the regulator?

@@robertallison1449 Very sorry about the delay, I didn't see your question until now! every orifice valve has a number on it, that number indicate the hole flow size. Generally speaking, LPG is lighter in weight so, you will need to install small orifice with smaller hole size. if your stove is connected to NG and it has 4 burners (1 large burner, 1 small burner and 2 medium burners) you are going to convert it to LPG, then most likely the orifice that was used on NG from medium burner will work perfectly on the larger burner with LPG! But if you want to further details, you can search online for orifice size chart and it should explain it. Thank you

Hi I have attached my stove with a regulator on the LPG bottle. I’ve changed my burner jets. But I cannot see any access on my new off grid oven to adjust the actual oven and the flame there is too big and yellow Any suggestions anyone??

Can't we use hob stoves without installation? Because it's not possible for transferable job.

Yes, you can use it without installation, just make sure it is stable and gas hose away from fire. OR you can build a 20cm wooden frame and install it on top of it and it will portable.

Converting Natural gas to LPG

You need to convert a natural gas appliance to LPG using the jets provided with the appliance because if you don't, the existing natural gas jets will put too much LPG into them, and you get an uncontrollable flame that produces huge yellow tips depositing soot and carbon on pans and kettles along with a horrible gassy smell emitted. Jetting a natural gas appliance for LPG bottled gas and propane tank supply ensures proper operation and safe use.
