I drowned my GASGAS EC350 :( its been a great bike for the 50hrs of ride time I've owned it, and the modifications I've made have been holding up well. but I made a pretty silly mistake that is going to cost me big time

Love the videos. I have always had a 2T; seeing your videos doing hard enduro on a 4T wants me trying one in the future. Specially was you mentioned that everyone now is on a 2T for hard enduro. But check what Jaime Busto does on his 4T haha. He is a pro I know but 4T are super cool too. Keep up the great videos

I'm a big fan of the 4T, thanks for watching!

Great, honest reviews. Really bad luck mate, Don't let it get you down. I sent my ecu to Rex, he's great to deal with but to be honest the difference it made to my 21 Fe 350 wasn't that pronounced. I love the 350 platform but I'm going to try a 300 2 stroke next. Keep up with the reviews. Cheers.

Thanks for the comment mate, that’s a shame about the ECU tune, initially I didn’t notice much difference except for how much easier the bike started, but once I was doing some steep climbs is where I really noticed the difference. I also think ol I’ll be on a 300 two stroke next

The 350 is the best 4t platform for hard enduro, for sure. You might find wheelies on a 300 2t are still plenty easy though ;-) Chin up about the engine, hope you get through without too much cost!

I agree 100% about the 350 being the best haha, yeah I’m sure I’ll also get a 300 2t one day, it’s just the lack of engine braking that I would need to get used to when doing wheelies. Thanks for the comment mate!

@@jackkellybuilds Think of it as forced training to cover the rear brake 😁

I was enjoying this vid right up to the drowning of the bike part. I hope the rebuild goes well. I've got an ec250f with 65 hrs on it and might do that oil pump gear upgrade too.
@jackkellybuilds8 ай бұрын
Im glad you enjoyed the video, even if the end was a bummer haha. the oil pump gear upgrade is cheap and easy enough to do, so might as well!

That sucks man. But I’m subscribed to see how you go coz I kind of feel like I’ll be there one day myself.

I sold that bad boy a while back now, but I’m sure the new owner is having a better time than me right now haha

Bad luck man, may not have been so bad on a 300, but they bring their own set of problems as well. Hope the rebuild doesn't cost to much
@jackkellybuilds8 ай бұрын
I hope it doesn't cost too much either haha, probably going to cost me around $1300 I think. thanks for the comment!

Mate drowned his Husky fe250- no damage, sucked water while riding though a river and stalled. Yamahas higher air intake is great for deeper crossing as long as the bikes upright of course.

too bad I wasn't as lucky as your mate haha. yeah the high up airbox wouldn't have helped too much in my situation anyway, bike went completely under

Renthal twinwall 996 is very strong handlebar, it should be a good option :)

But how much does the metal oil pump gear weigh , plastic oil pump gear , gear not important really. Shockers they are .
@jackkellybuilds8 ай бұрын
I don't know how much it weighs but the added reliability is worth it in my opinion

$350 sounds cheap for ECU where did you buy it?
@jackkellybuilds8 ай бұрын
$350 to tune the stock ECU, which I sent to Rex at "Fuel Torque" and then he sent it back with with the new mapping
@geedubone8 ай бұрын
Shinko 505 is better than the 525. Grip is just as good and wear is much better. Use a SXF full exhaust. Much better clearance at the front and a bit more grunt. You need to make a new mid bracket to suit. I bought mine off a MX rider for $150. The removed flap on the airbox may have contributed to the drowning. I'm leaving mine in for the moment. I know of a TE350 that drowned and bent a rod on the first ride. Unfortunately it does happen. The ECU tune from Rex is great, more power and better stall resistance.
@jackkellybuilds8 ай бұрын
yeah I have thought about putting a motocross exhaust setup on it but wasn't sure if id lose that low down grunt from the longer header pipe on the enduro. ill probably try the 505 shinko next. thanks for the comment mate!
@geedubone8 ай бұрын
The SXF exhaust didbn't affect the bottom end that I noticed. It does have the power bulge perhaps that compensates for the shorter header. It is louder but not offensive. I'm considering grafting the longer EC muffler onto the end but haven't bothered yet. I'm much happier with the lack of dents though. My EC header is pretty ugly.

@@geedubone ill look into getting one then, I think I saw a full stock sxf setup the other day for $150
