To be fair, the troops shooting at him had more sense than all soldiers in every Hulk and Godzilla and King Kong film combined. The second they noticed that the bullets were not working, they ceased fire. Smart enough to not waste their ammo or stay in the way of the dragon's fire and claws. ~N.W

I think the Japanese soldiers in this movie are smarter than the American soldiers in hollywood, shooting at the weakest point of the dragon, keeping a safe distance. I wonder a hundred meter monster is like a flying battleship, so why in hollywood, rockets don't do much with monster?

I don’t get it. What is a shoulder check? Is that a rear area clear check for backblast? That’s what I assumed it was but I was enjoying this during enlistment as a waepaons platoon machine gunner and just glanced over the translations in favor of the motions/action. Now I’m reading stuff and am confused. Even worse is that I’ve cross trained with JDSF but only on machine gun ran ages since AT/JAV rounds are pricey, so the only the proper 0351’s got to go over the process with them. I got to see their machine guns and we had comps but shoulder checks didn’t come up. Did get tot see signal flags and Spartans chest kicks, so that was fun. JDSF don’t pussy foot around. They worked old school discipline so we got along just fine.

@hieug.rection1920 Rocket launchers like that usually have a counterweight that gets pushed out the back to keep the firing tube stable while the projectile exits, it will delete anyone behind it so you have to make sure no poor sod is standing behind you.

Only thing I've got to complain about is the fact that if Panzerfaust3 could dismember dragon's arm, .50 AP rounds and later on full panzerfaust barrage and artillery strike could make minced meat out of the dragon. One succesful hit out of Type 74 tank's 105mm L7 gun's APFSDS would penetrate dragon's armoured body through like nothing. They did mention that dragon's skin is akin to 2cm thick tungsten plates. Well, Japaneese Type 93 APFSDS round can penetrate ~420mm of highly hardened steel at 2000m. Point blank it would go through whole dragon effortlessly. 2cm of tungsten is like 3.2 cm of RHA hardened steel. Even non-penetrative hits would make absolutely horrific hemorrhages and muscle fiber devastation due to kinetic energy transfer. After some hits dragon would literally choke on it's own blood, vomit pieces of it's lungs and could not move for the life of it. But otherwise it is awesome story and manga. Also if only hard logic would apply here, we would not have any fun at all, as dragon would just strafe whole convoy with fire and then eat to it's heart content. xD Fun is good sometimes

They killed this dragon later on with a C4 riggest nest filled with swords after shooting several Panzerfaust3 at it. The 2 dragons that were killed afterwards by the Rocket,Tow and artillery barrage of all sorts of wappons was used to wipe out the smaller children of the fire dragon. It was states that the 20mm Peeshooter of their fighters would only tickel it and that rockets and such would be to slow or unmaneuverable to hit it. Basicly a flying tank with that could fly like a helicopter,turn like a biplane and fly like a jetplane all in one :D

Politicians do that ALL. THE. TIME. Big company bosses will also do the same thing. They'll make stupid decisions due to overconfidence or pride and will ever-so-cheerfully blame their dumb ideas failing or falling short of expectations on the people lower on the ladder just as often. People in positions of power often get drunk on it, and are all too happy to accept (or steal) responsibility when things are going great for their end-goals, but often refuse to even acknowledge that a problem even exists if it means they can avoid the slightest amount of direct blame when things go wrong. This often gets much worse when they want a person or organized group that they view as 'in their way' gone. With politicians and big-company CEOs their reputation is worth more to them by far than the lives and livelihood of a few dozen (or hundred or sometimes thousand) soldiers or employees. If you're not on their level, you;re beneath them in every sense of the word, and if you ARE on their level, more like as not you're seen as a rival, not an equal. It's a sad way to be.

Well they fighting a big ass dragon that its moving constantly and they trying to figure out where to shoot while on stress and limited ammunition and trying to not get hit in the proccess and civilian lifes at risk xd So yeah tukas helps of making them notice the remaining eye of the dragon being the only area to shoot (that i presume they tought if it had both eyes, would been harder to stun the dragon to have the oportunity to shoot the panzerfaust 3) xD So yeah, they would probably figured it out eventually but more civilian lifes could had been lost if the dragon lost interest in the jsdf soldiers
