Very informative video, I needed just that - info about these two types of switches in a simple, straight forward and understandable manner. The presentation of the vid needs a little bit of work, but: 1) that's secondary; 2) he will get there, most people are even afraid to show their face on camera. Keep up the good work!

I've got a 60% magic force 68 with Cherry blues, it's brand new and the switches feel kind of stiff and scratchy and my fingers fatigue on them after typing for a while. It feels very stiff as it gets to the actuation point. I've tried gateron blues and they felt nice and smooth but I didn't think I liked the higher actuation point but this is my first Cherry keyboard and I think I might have like the gateron switches more straight out of the box, I had Outemu before this and I wanted to updgrade so I want to get it right. Will they get smoother or should I return it and get a different switch? I don't know if I would go back to the gateron blues or try cherry browns...I did try Outemu browns at one point and they felt a bit mushy, but these blues just feel too stiff I think.

Really helpful info about the Gateron browns being better for gaming versus Cherry MX browns being better for typing. I’ve been doing a lot of research for my first mechanical keyboard, and I know I want brown switches. I just get nervous about the lower-budget keyboards using Gaterons (such as Cooler Master’s CK550 and CK530 that have very attractive price points).

I play CSGO (7k hrs) mostly with Cherry MX Browns, I personally find the pronounced tactile feedback is a benefit for movement precision and not a distraction. I absolutely hate reds due to lack of this feedback so moving towards their smoother/faster direction doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but I'm curious about the speed difference now.

Great video man. Got a question. Gateron Brown or Gateron Red? I've heard Gateron reds are very smooth and offer the best of the Gateron lineup. However as a gamer and typer, I'm worried that typing with reds will suck. In addition to this are the browns really worth it for the very small tactile feel when you could have a super smooth linear red switch. Worth the trade off for Browns? Thanks :)

That was helpful thank you. I was considering the Gateron VS the Cherry but since the tactile feedback is less I'll be passing on them. I'm actually seeking something with the same spring tension of a cherry brown but with a bigger tactile bump. The clears unfortunately have a much stiffer spring. If only there was something in between these two.

probably the tropical weather, when i used to live in malaysia there was not a single second i didnt sweat. You also never left the bathroom dry after having a shower because you would start sweatting instantly

My Cherry MX brown broke down during the COVID and MX brown here is very low in stock. The cheapest one is around $200. I really need new keyboard for my work so I made a gamble with Geteron brown and it is a wrong decision. It is kind of feel like smoothly red than tactile. I expected more tactile feedback. Do you have anything more similar to Cherry MX brown ?

Loved this vid man. I was looking for a good SMALL RGB mechanical keyboard that had both wireless & wired support & I ran across one called Obins Anne Pro, but there are two types of them. Cherry & Gateron, & i've known of the infamous cherry forever, but I never looked into what Gateron really was, because i've always just gotten cherry, but the Gateron version is a bit cheaper, & i was trying to decide if I would just be spending an unnecessary $20 bucks extra for the cherry version, when their really both equal in performance, which is all I care about. I'm looking forward to buying the small form factor MSI Trident X i9 2080 Ti 32Gb mini itx desktop, & needed a good small keyboard for both extreme gaming & video editing next to my Steelseries 600 mouse & Asus Zenscreen portable monitor (Will be upgrading to the Asus Proart pq22uc) on the go if I needed it. For traveling, my local coffee shop, on a greyhound bus, etc, so this vid was extremely helpful. Thanks so much buddy X-)

@@williambates6544 Yes. I need a more portable setup for moving around purposes, plus, the Trident X i'm referring to is super powerful. Not just for a small form factor, but just in general. An i9 is no Threadripper. Which I would obviously prefer, but there is currently no such thing as a mini itx mobo that is rocking a TR4 socket, so it is what it is until they release one. Which I heard a rumor of MSI planning on making one tho. That would be dope af,... but the i9 9900k is MORE than enough for gaming... obviously,.. & good ENOUGH for video editing. Especially my style of video editing. It sure will make things faster in the workstation arena compared to my Omen 17 laptop i7 H series (Laptop CPU), a measly 16gb's of LAPTOP ram, & an Nvidia 1050 Ti GPU. Which idk if is a laptop gpu or a desktop gpu just without the armor, but wutever wutevs. Either way, it still won't have shiznit on the 11gb Ventus 2080 Ti. I can't WAIT to get my setup. Only $700 more. Next paycheck or two. So HAPPAYYYY! ! 😁

Even thought Gateron are smoother and lighter, are them more tactile? I Just bought a Gateron Brown keyboard and I'm loving It. But I never had Cherry MX Browns before to compare

The only ones that give harder are the cherry mx brown but the blues on both are the same with pressure the reds are almost the same also by the way those dont sound like gaterons I have browns and they sound way way more like mx browns
