I'm with Henson on bits. I used D ring snaffle with sweet iron and copper inlays. I do have a curb bit, mullen mouth, sweet iron and copper inlays. These keep the horse's mouth moist and they like the taste.

Your hat suits your face ... looks good. I remember fitting hats shapes and sizes, brim sizes it is a lot.

My daddy showed me how to make a hack more out of baling rope, never used a bridle till I was around 12 and bought one cause my friends all had them. My horse didn’t like it at all for the longest time.

Yep, you're right, they're trouble! I live in Montana and I'll never forget the day we moved to our current city, 30 years ago this fall. As we drove the U-Haul down a mountain pass near dark, we came upon a wreck. Two enormous Angus bulls fighting in the pasture next to the highway had busted through the fence onto the road, where a guy driving a truck hit and killed one of them. He said the setting sun was in his eyes and he didn't see them quick enough to avoid them. Someone was hoisting the dead one onto a flatbed as we drove by. I remember thinking it was a good thing we didn't hit it with our U-haul because there would have been bulls and furniture all over the road!

I’m so glad you brought up your hat being on backwards (or not) because I’ve wanted to ask you why you both wear your hats backwards since I started watching your videos! I just thought it had become a “thing” since my years of showing horses. Like one of your other commenters, I started buying and wearing western hats for purposes of showing, not ranching, back in the early 1960’s. And based on how we steamed and shaped our hats, your hats are definitely being worn backwards. Sorry, but the wide part of the brim is worn to the back of your head unless some quirky change in style has happened since the late 90’s. 😂

If you wear hats a bunch you'll know as soon as you put it on if it's on wrong. I live in Texas and I've already put my black hat up and pulled my palm leaf hat out. It's been in the high 70s and low 80s here. My head will sweat really bad in that felt hat.

If your cows calve easy I wouldn’t worry about leaving the bulls out all year. Do you have much trouble with them breeding the young heifers, still on the cow?
