Gavin Harrison Performs at Drum Fantasy Camp 2011

Drummer Gavin Harrison performs "Chromazone" at the opening concert for Drum Fantasy Camp 2011, along with: Mike Stern (guitar), Tom Kennedy (bass), and Bob Franceschini (sax). This concert was the grand opening to the 2011 camp, which also featured: Chris Coleman, Peter Erskine, Steve Smith, and Dave Weckl. Registration is now open for the 2012 camp at www.drumfantasycamp.com

I just love what Mike says about Gavin ! That's true, he kicks ass ! Incredible "time out" break (is it 7/8 ?) You can't do things like that without excellent musicians around, I remember Bill Bruford playing an amazing break during a King Crimson show and saw Bob Frip and Tony Levin staring at him and saying WOW !!!

The tom intro was amazing. Nevertheless many drummers tried to play "Chromazone" but no one can swing the band like Dennis Chambers. The original was cut by Peter Erskine but the epic performance and the whole "China Club" concert courtesy of Dennis, Mike Stern, Bob Berg and Lincoln Goines is one of the greatest musical performances ever. It seemed they were grooving so hard that another subway stop appeared after the gig.
