Honestly PAP has done well. Watching them dosing off in Parliament, and most of them not attending parliamentary meeting makes me feel that they are just too complacent. We need some oppositions to challenge them.

PAP presentation sounds good, but is it really good? Carefully listen to the content of the last member of PAP speaker. All he said are unkept promises like jobs and wages, but we all know all PAP does in this generation is to increase GST, give jobs to foreigners and make life miserable for us. PAP without LKY leadership not good alr.

The present politicans are more 9to 5. Most needs own private time. The question is can the opposition candidates make better officers when they don't even know the insides of existing Government apparatus like CPF, Temasek, GIC, NTUC, etc.? I doubt they know what they are talking about. E.g. transparency in funds for the public means Singapore Enemies know exactly how and where to hurt the country, our country, our people.

Tbh that's cuz this year PAP is weaker due to misjudgements of candidates and retirement of many good candidates without much relatable down-to-earth candidates for majority of the singaporeans to replace them (like Ivan lim), so WP spreading their key players out to win more seats is a better strategy in this fundamentally flawed GRC system in the first place. Also this year there are more worthy oppositions, and there even is a pressure on PAP to last minute reshuffle their good candidates to other places, as seen from key candidates changing from Tampines and East Coase for a chance of a win. If you compare last year's selection vs this year's, you'll also see non key candidates being reshuffled around, and also 1-2 newly introduced candidates per GRC

Void Catalyst gst hike will not take place in 2021. Also, proposed gst was still single digit compare to other countries where its even more than 20%. I believe in hiking gst post 2021 governments motive is to continue growth of singapore.

Sumit Jamwal I agree with you. Anyone who has studied basic econs will know that GST is one policy that gathers funds for our budget and reserves. For information, our budget is about 80 million every year for defense, education, infrastructure etc. This year alone was 183 million due to Covid. If raising GST is necessary for us to supplement future Govt budgets which are likely to require a lot more money to inject some stimulus into the economy and also support Singaporeans who will continue to have their incomes affected by the economic downturn for a long time, I can accept it. It is after all for the long term further growth and security of SG.

Void Catalyst I am not sure from where you gathered income tax in india. India has pretty nasty income tax slabs it varies from 10-30%. If you earn 1k sgd then there is no tax, Over that its quite high. Also no one will go bankrupt with single digit income tax. I know we had feel a bit sad that got additional 2% cut. But its not that bad if sg government has growth plans for future.Govt already spent 1/5th of gdp during covid. I hope they keep tax in check and do not keep incrementing it though.

The issue is not abt dethroning them and forming a new government. That won't happen. Its about giving opposition enough seats (say 20-30% of parliament) so alternative voices can be heard. Aljunied, Tanjong Pagar, East Coast, Sengkang, West Coast grc and Bukit Batok smc should do their part. They have good opposition candidates. The rest like Jurong, AMK, Marsiling Yew Tee, Pasir Ris, Sembawang just let PAP take la. The opposition there not good.

What future are you talking about, when one day any foreigner can replace your current job? PAP already give many local jobs to foreigners. Must you be that poor Singaporean who used to be PAP supporter to know it's too late when one day even yours job is gone to a foreigner to make you some sense of waking?

From majority Local Specialists become Ah Nehs/Bangla/Ah Zhong that you see nowadays liao. Poor Singaporeans who get from $1000+ to $3000+ into Foreigners paying less than $1000 & whatever lesser for that. And today, seemed to me completely Majority Foreigners now.
