A month ago I bought a TG-530 on a whim for $300 (guess I wanted to REALLY support my local music shop). Had never even heard of Tagima. Took it home and discovered I really loved it. More than my 28 year old PRS CE-22, more than any of my other guitars. Upgraded the pickups to Wilde Noisefree Strats (not because the originals sound bad, but because there is way too much 60Hz in my music room) and a Freeway Switch (for fun) and liked it even more. Wondered if I was putting too much $$$ into a cheap guitar, so went to music store and played more than 30 new and used Fender Strats up to $3000, and none of the necks felt as good (to me) as the Tagima. Next week I'm getting a new nut because the old one does look like a plastic piece of junk with bits of shaved plastic still hanging off it (not that it seems to matter to the sound or playability) and asking the luthier if I'm insane to keep sinking money into it. But I'm just blown away by how good this guitar feels and plays.

I totally agree with you on the hearing the difference. I use to sell professional stero equip from $300 to $10,000. To be fair to my consumers not my employers. I use to do the can you hear it test if they wanted to buy anything above $400. So we would do a blind test play randomly cheap than expensive. Most by far failed the test. So my point to them was if its for you and you can't hear the difference do you still want to buy the expensive one. Most people way over 90% said no and became repeat customers. One time a man and his wife came in and she wanted the most expensive we had at the time which was about 8K. Her husband was pushing back so we did the hearing test. Guess what she passed it twice and got the expensive one. Her husband felt good about it instead of feeling it was for nothing. He couldn't hear the difference 😎 Just a note I am neurologist and ears can fine, however the brain has to know the difference so don't draw conclusions about your ears. Done! Aside do you know if their neck pocket is standard size fender would like to switch it to a 24 3/4".

Tagima is the surname of a Brazilian luthier born to Japanese parents, so the origin of the word is Japanese. In 1950, the Japanese constituted the fourth colony in Brazil in number of immigrants, with 10.6% of foreigners registered. Greetings from Brazil!

I got my tagima t-635 back when you could find them on reverb for 169 bucks...now they are 345 dollars. Bone nut, 2 point trem, full size alder body, alnico pickups, neck cutaway for playing higher frets, split post tuners, rosewood or maple fingerboard, and sounds amazing. Blows away the squiers ive had, and you have to pay big bucks to get those features on fenders.

Exactly right. At 10 minutes into the video you say most players can't hear the difference between ceramic and alnico ( better) pickups. I agree. I know players who claim to hear a difference between a plastic nut and bone. Maple fretboard versus rosewood? Some guys claim to hear a difference. Even a cable to plug in to the amp? Some pickers claim to hear a difference between cables and patch cords. I used to spend many dollars chasing tone. After 40 years of doing that I have come full circle. I keep my equipment all original. Every thing on my guitars is factory original. Engineers who design American made guitars know what they are doing.

I own a Tagima Stella H3 handmade in Brazil. It's my second Tagima Brazil. First one was a JA1, signature model. They are much much more superior to Chinese Tagima ones. These Chinese ones are inferior to Mexican Fenders, IMO. Now, comparing Brazilian Tagimas with Mexican Fenders, I'd say that Tagimas have better finish and wood cuts (2 pieces body). I don't know nothing about Mexican Fenders hardware. Brazilian Tagimas have bone nut, medium jumbo frets, 2-point/pivot bridge, Tagima or NZaganin pickups, fretboard radius 12" (most of them). Let me tell about the models. -TW series. It's stands for Tagima Woodstock. These are all Chinese and the most cheap. -Then we have Classic models. These are based on some renowned classic guitars and early days Tagima models as well. Better than TW ones. -Brazil series. The Brazil handmade ones. Premium models. Better than Classic ones. -Jazz N Blues series and Signature series. Special ones. Some from China and some from Brazil.

@jeffwinn673 3 жыл бұрын
@@grinningintheirface2685 I'm sure the T-635 is an upgrade but I think the point of the video is how good this guitar is for its price-point. I see where you got yours for $169 but as of today Reverb does not have a new one for less than $379 with free shipping. By comparison, you can still get the 530 for $199 with free shipping. I know because I bought mine a couple of months ago. On one hand, it is only $179 more to get the 635 but at the same time it is almost twice the price of the 530. I guess it just boils down to getting what you pay for. For me, I wanted a new strat-style guitar and after watching several of these reviews, the consensus seemed to be that this model is better than similarly prices Squires, Yamahas, etc. Using a different company for comparison, spending $175 more takes you from buying an Epiphone "Les Paul Junior" to getting a "Modern Studio" or a "Modern Classic Worn". That extra money completely changes your materials and hardware. Glad you love your 635. I love my 530 - for the price. It isn't the same as my Epiphone Les Paul Honeyburst or Ibanez RG450DX but it was also less than half the price of those. But if someone wants to pick up a Strat-style guitar and only spend $200, I don't think you can find a better value than the 530. And if they want to spend $379 - sounds like the 635 would be a great buy as well.
