Couldn’t agree more man! I remember mid to late 2000s somewhere this person taking a shot of someone’s eye with a wide open lens and PSing the shit out of that eye. All of a sudden everybody starting doing that. Same thing with twin red heads. Great video man!

Found you yesterday looking at XF 18 f2 reviews, then I went down the Dee Rosa rabbit hole. Keep it up, your perspective and experience make sense to me regarding taking photographs, thanks for the reminder why I love to take a simple photo.

Your message resonates with me. My photos are nearly exclusively taken for me, for myself. I take images which please my eyes or freeze a place, a person, an object for my memories. I don't think I am particularly talented or good at taking photos, but I personally like my photos and that's what matters to me. If I should value my photography based on the number of likes I get on Instagram I would have to think that my photography sucks as I get very few likes. Paradoxically the photos which are among my 'least' loved ones are actually those which end up getting more likes; it's usually photos of dogs or animals in general or photos with amazing mural art. Don't get me wrong I also enjoy taking those photos, but the photos I love or like the most are not those getting more likes. Photography makes me happy. Even if they told me that my photos aren't good I would still be proud of taking them because it makes me happy. Hugs, Manu

Hey man great advice! The allures of social media can be really insidious I honestly don't use it that much at this point but I'm definitely not immune to posting something and closely monitoring likes and comments. I find when I do that I feel kinda gross.

Hey man , nice video as always , I will admit that I like to geek out about photography and videography , wether it about a philosophical subject like this one or just talk about gear , when it is something that interests me. For the record , my fuji lenses of choice are the 35 f2 and the 16 f1.4 and I am very happy with just that, I don’t feel the need for the latest fuji gear or anything…. But I had this thought the other day that I just want to share it with you, just to geek out , and maybe it can be a subject for you to talk about in a future video. Wouldn’t it be cool if Fuji made a version of the X100 series (fix lens camera) but with a GFX sensor !!! You could talk about : 1) How small you think they could make it? 2) What lens should the put on it? (I would want a 35mm f2 because to me a 35 f2 lens is a 35mm f2 lens no matter what the crop factor is and I love how 35mm f2 renders , yes, I know, it will look wider on the large sensor , but the stretchiness between things in the foreground and background will remain just how I like it on my 35mm FF or APS-C , I know people will give me shit for saying this , but I don’t care 🤨 and their is no point in telling me that I am wrong because I know I am right 🙃) 3) should it have a gfx50 sensor ? 4)is there even a market for it? 5)lets speculate on a price… Idk let just geek out. Love your videos , keep it up 👍🏽 Name is Jonathan , watching from Haiti btw

Hey johnathan. I don’t think that would be a crazy idea. They could try and fit something in a 50R body size with a fixed lens like their 40mm. But with that size it may just be better to grab a 50R and the 50/3.5. Very interesting tho.

Hoping you could expand on your thoughts about photos that are visually appealing but otherwise lack a story. Do you think that telling a story with photos is integral to it being artistic? Thanks for the thought-provoking discussion
@DeeRosa
@DeeRosa 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think telling a story if necessary at all because I believe art is subjective. But I do believe that each and every one of us has to ask ourselves why we take photos. Is it because we enjoy the art and want to create? Or is it because we want attention? Do we want take photos of things that matter to us? Or do we take photos of things we believe will get us the most attention?

Dee you gonna review the 23mm 1.4 wr ?
@DeeRosa
@DeeRosa 2 жыл бұрын
My dear friend, Pancake Mix, I have already used the 23/1.4 WR on loan from Fujifilm. Do you have any questions? My short review - if you’re buying it for bokeh I would skip it because compression is lame. If you’re buying it fire WR buy the 23/2 instead. If you’re buying it because it’s the newest lens and you may want a higher megapixel camera from Fujifilm one day then go for it.

@@DeeRosa in your opinion do you think its worth it! Lets say theoretically the f2 didnt exist or the older model. Do you think its worth purchasing?
@DeeRosa
