It comes with tape already on it so you shouldn't need to actually use the double-sided foam tape. I ended up using the double sided tape on some foam panels for the ceiling of my studio, but it wouldn't stick super well to the fibrous material of the acoustic foam. I ended up gluing the strips to the foam, then sticking them directly to the ceiling and they haven't fallen down since. The parts of the foam tape that stuck to the ceiling felt really secure, like I might have trouble taking it off the ceiling without removing some paint here and there. However, the tape on the back of the lights feels a little more forgiving on the wall, and would peel off without much struggle and no visible damage when I adjusted the placement of the first strip I put up. I would stick with the stuff thats already on it, or maybe try some command strips instead of sticking the leds directly to the wall if you're worried about damage. Either way, it shouldn't take much more than some paint to fix any damage either adhesive options might incur.

If I'm not mistaken my kit only came with three strands, so maybe the total voltage is too high to just daisy-chain. That sounds like the issue to me!

@@MegaMiniMedia being that I need that 4th string to complete the trim of my house, should I try using another power supply and run that 4th string from the other end of the house? Do you think it would sink with the other three strings?

@@yokitchentoddalston3329 I think depending on how you use the lights (just setting one color vs using a music mode or color changing mode) you could make that setup work. I'm not sure if the control boxes all work off of the same frequency, but one remote might control both in which case you're much more likely to be able to synchronize the settings of both. To get that fourth string working though I definitely think you need that second power supply.

I think they might be set on an audio mode, there should be static light modes. I used to set mine to blue and leave them on all day, which was a nice offset to the orange light bulbs in the room :) If the remote isn't working correctly, try downloading the app! I think there's a QR code on the box 🤔

The product doesn't actually store or play music, it has a microphone to listen to its environment and flash or pulse the lights accordingly! No speaker on these, and they don't exactly sync to music, on pulse to the beat/peaks in sound volume.

I did get these over a year ago, but they never gave me trouble the whole time I had them. Also, Nexillumi was very good at responding to my emails with questions on how to install and use them, and I imagine they would replace or refund any products that don't work out of the box. Let us know if you have any trouble though, we'd love to hear about your experience with them if you get a set!

I've found two reasons as to why that might happen: 1. They're set to one of the color-cycle modes (they would change at even intervals) 2. Another remote or IR device in the house is changing settings on it. (My TV remote has a few buttons that will change colors or turn off/on my LEDs! They use the same frequencies!)

There is a mode you can set it to so that it reacts to the microphone built in to the control unit, and with the phone app you can turn up or down the mic sensitivity. I had it set at maximum for the test I showed in the video, and there are two modes to choose from.

Mine had sticky backing directly on the back of the led strips, but I'm finding that there are multiple Nexillumi 50ft packs with slightly different pieces included. Is there backing on your set? Mine came with a roll of double-sided foam tape too!

@@3ast5ide_zay the tape that is already on the rolls of leds worked great for me. I just unrolled a bit, took off a bit of the backing, then stuck it directly to the wall. Repeat until the whole roll is along the wall, pressing firmly between the led diodes to make sure it was all stuck securely. Even though we got the same brand, some of the 50ft packs come with two 25' spools and some with three, and some with different remotes. Just saying :)

You can definitely change colors! The remote has a ton of color options, and you can dial in specific colors in the app, but all the lights change at once. The do not flash different colors at the same time, but there are modes to have it softly or quickly cycle through the color spectrum, and also for it to react to sounds :)

They do not move, correct! There are other LED strips that have modes to allow the colors to chase eachother, but these are static.

When I first got mine there was a tab preventing the battery from discharging / powering the remote while in shipping, maybe that tab is still there? I turned mine on while they were in the roll too and didn't have any issues, but I think they defaulted to white like that too. I would give the app a shot if the remote isn't working, but either way definitely get in touch with the seller about that and they'll hopefully replace it for you if it doesn't work!

Might be worth emailing the company, I've had that issue before with other devices and they typically have a link where you can download their app. Let us know if that works for you!

@@MADM3N there are connectors built into the strips. You can either do three separate sections all connected to the base (about 16.3ft long each) or you can daisy-chain them so they reach around 50ft long 👍

Good question, but no idea 🤷‍♂️ Checked the Amazon listing and can't find any answers! Makes me think about getting a light meter to measure it myself 🤔

If the walls are plaster I would say yes, as the tape does have a pretty solid hold. If you have drywall or wood with paint you should be fine!

App works well for me, I have it on an old phone that stays in my studio and only uses wifi, but I do prefer the remote since it's easier! I attached it to my desk with velcro so I can just hit the button whenever I first walk in :)

Do you have some sort of pop-up blocker on your phone? A "captcha" is an image that the app will show you and you have to input the letters/numbers you see into a text box in order to verify you're human (and not a robot or program). Other than that I'm not sure how to help with that... there might someone else in these comments who might know better, or a result on Google that might help!

Better late than never! App is called Lotus Lantern to control these :) Other lights from them have used an app called Happy Lighting too!

50ft! Three separate strips that were about 16.6' in length, totaling around 50ft in all.

I think it's called Lotus Lantern, but it's been a while since I've used/had these lights up, and I always would just use the remote that comes with them, so I'm not 100% sure!

Are you using the remote or the app? I got most of functionality with the remote, but all the features get unlocked when you use the app. Are those working for you?

Mine smelled like plastic when I first opened it, but the actual product itself wasn't the cause, it seemed to be some foam that was in the packaging. I tossed that right away though, and the lights haven't given me an issue since!

Yea mine had the same strong smell I ended up returning mine and getting another brand
