The poor guy had to lose his whole world in order to save it. It really does make you ask if saving the world is really worth it if there's nothing left for you in the end. Luckily Anya was there to comfort him and now we know they had a kid so I guess there really always is a tomorrow no matter how bleak things may seem.

Let's list the people he lost: -His Mother was killed by the Locust -Carlos Santiago -Carlos and Dom's Parents (Who are like Family to him) -Maria and the kids -Anthony Carmine -Tai Kaliso (He only joined the COG due to Marcus convincing him) -Benjamin Carmine -DOMINIC!!!! -AND THEN HIS FATHER!!! -Then his wife Anya between 3 and 4! We're seeing the beginning of a war take place and yeah it's stupid that they made us kill off one person but I think that just brings the incentive to take the fight to the Swarm. JD is seeing growth too and while some parts are meh, I liked it. It's sad to see a franchise get shit on for the sequels sometimes.

@@asemiintelligentork8388 worst thing is, they could've done it right They could've made Gears 0, which was about the pendulum wars and day E, they had the perfect chance for it but "nah let's just milk and ruin the franchise". The whole meaning of "brothers to the end" feels ruined because of Gow 4. Gow 4 is still my most hated game to this day for how it ruins most of the meaning in gears 3 and the end of the trilogy (at least judgment, as terrible as it is gameplay wise, was just a prequel with not much of an impact)

I like how in each game the Queens attitude and tone changed with each title. Gears of war 1: the queen is beyond arrogant and smug Gears of war 2: the queen is still arrogant and smug but kinda surprised at how the humans are fighting back still strong Gears of war 3: the queen is completely desperate and worried for the locust

6:20 Marcus's face says it all. They won the war, but he lost his lifelong friend/brother and his dad. He knows they won, but he feels like he lost too much to celebrate with the rest of his comrades.

Man, I love how they did this, Marcus throws his Lancer to the side, takes off his armor and drops it in the sand, then takes off the bandana, in the comics in novels it was often stated how he rarely took it off. To see him remove it and his armor here is symbolic of him finally shedding the weight of this long and brutal war. I also like in Gears 4 how Del held on to it and seeing a new threat, Marcus puts it back on.

this level was such a pain on insane difficulty, the queen herself is easy to kill but it's her constant theron and shrieker reinforcements that kept killing me over and over again

Gears 5 imo was on par with the original trilogy, bringing back classic characters like Baird and Cole, and even connecting to incredibly important scenes and locations from gears 2. 4 was meh until the last act, and 5 throughout was actually awesome imo

steven armend yeah absolutely man, I don’t blame the company though I just blame the overall gaming market for implementing micro transactions making it easier to get stuff instead of working to get them. Kinda ruins the experience

You know what they really forgot at the end? To give us a blackscreen with the Crimson Omen on, together with the iconic Gears jingle from the first two games. THAT would have been nice! They did it at the end of Gears 2 and it still gives me shivers today...

Now this ladies and gentlemen is how you end a game super satisfyingly showing all the characters in the final shot and a great build up for the next instalment. Just wish they would remaster 1 and 2, id pay full prices for those two games

Adam was a very loving father and human; willing to do what he did to try to ensure his son and everyone else on Sera had a chance for a future, and even hoping he could have helped the Locust to be able to return to the Hollow with taking out the Lambent. He made the biggest sacrifice of all to try to save everyone, even if it didn't fully succeed.

Its understandable she nor the locus choose to be what they were but they did choose to kill everyone on the surface instead of simply trying to find a more peaceful means of cohabitations since the humans I doubt would want to fight her since they just ended a near 80 year war. Imagine if Gears and Locus fought together against the lambent creatures probably would have saved a lot of head ache.

I know the woke thing it to take a female bad guy like Maleficent or Cruella, make them the victim of an evil man, and celebrate their immoral actions bc of their tragic past, but I don't see that in GoW5. The original trilogy had a running theme showing the brutality of war and mankind's capacity for evil. GoW2 hints at Myrrah's past, and 5 fleshes it out. But Myrrah is still made to be evil with her past revealed keeping that theme running through her too.

The ending and dom dieing really touched me. It was a pretty good ending to a AMAZING franchise, the only sad thing is that this is the last gears, i would give anything to see all the cogs in action again but sadly it wont happen :( Thanks for all the good fun times and memories you gave me GoW Trilogy you'll be missed :')

Gears 3 is fucking amazing, I loved how they actually showed alot of emotion between the characters. I bet everyone never believed they would see Marcus at the way he does in this game but I think it makes it better, it shows that he's human and not some stereotypical "bad ass" with no emotions. Also just so everyone knows i'm pretty sure the queen IS human I say this because if you notice as she's walking towards him the tower does that blue pulse that would kill a locust but it didn't kill her

Seeing Marcus go to the beach to sit and reflect really made you think, there was nothing for him to celebrate. Had anya not been there Marcus might've never found the temporary peace he did find
