I feel like this car has had my favorite “glow up” of any car on the channel. It’s easy to turn a car conventional “racy” car into a better race car, however seeing the state this car was in when it was purchased for the road trip and what you turned it into, has been so cool!

Please document the fire suppression stuff. I also have an Ek that I plan on tracking and I have no idea how to do that install so it would help me out a ton and i find that kind of stuff very enjoyable to watch. If it’s not too much of a hassle please capture that on video. Love the Ek build series btw, you and the team are doing a wonderful job with everything.

I made some shorts on my fire suppression install. Obviously lower production quality than G&G. For me, mounting the bottle to something flat was a bit of a challenge but it worked out. Those kits really are made to go together easy. I was pleasantly surprised. Then I saw some stuff even jankier than what I did rolling through the tech shed and felt a lot better about mine.

Tip that I got from someone when welding two very different thickness of metals is to preheat the thicker metal so that it'll create a pool pretty much at the same time as the thin one when TIG welding.

Protip: you need a smooth undertray to create a Venturi otherwise the air won’t stick to the underside(I.e., suck the car down to the ground via the Coanda effect).

Flat floors aren't legal for GLTC, and the splitter can only extend rearward to the front hub centerline so it's about all he can do :)
@craigiefconcert6493
@craigiefconcert6493 Жыл бұрын
I almost bought that lowering the front and having some rake could make a Venturi effect, although a Venturi has quite a bit of restriction. A Venturi has to be enough to change the flow speed significantly. It is probably more to do with restricted air flow beneath the car vs over the car which makes it act like a wing. Lowering the car doesn’t do anything to change the frontal area of the car so won’t change the aerodynamic drag factor.
@blairo15

He shortened the front bar after he lowered it Einstein 🧑‍🎓
@ElPants21

And even if he didn't change the air dam/splitter, lowering the car leaves less of the tires exposed which does slightly lower frontal area. Not dramatic but every little bit helps

You can use that tig welder for brazing those parts on. It requires a lot less amperage, it flow very nicely and it would be there for sure.

As cool as the headlight intake is, building an air box from it around your filter will help reduce intake temps, increase the pressure, and MIGHT help your cooling system efficiency by reducing the air pressure on the back of the radiator. Granted you are power limited in the new series, I cant see more cooling as a bad thing
