Welcome to Tick Creek Ranch. This channel
was created to show the daily ins and outs of
life on a small ranch. We are a family of eight,
our lifestyle has taken us from the deserts of
Idaho to the wilds of Alaska and back to the
lower 48. We followed our dreams and finally
settled in the Ozark's of Missouri. We have
owned and operated our own businesses. over
the years, ranging from carpentry and
excavation to commercial and residential landscape. The children and ourselves have
developed a passion for learning new skills
which include leather work, welding and
fabricating, carpentry, plumbing, electrical,
roofing, painting, equipment operation, timber
sawing, blacksmithing, horseshoeing, flatwork
and concrete, timber framing, cattle ranching,
horse training, and many more. Please follow
along on this journey as we build our new
home and delve into the ways of regenerative

I know it's beneficial, but I can't help feeling sorry for them. Looks like it was done efficiently and humanely.

They will have much better lives. The life of most stallions is pretty miserable being isolated and causing harm to themselves.

I hadn't thought about a stallion having to be isolated. I've never been around horses. Thank you. @@tickcreekranch

I had my Belgium gelded. The vet specialized in horses, but warmbloods. She told the student vet that he would not lay down till the second shot of sleepy time juice. Fast forward about three minutes… I knew better and grabbed the vet and pulled them out of the way. Ol’Rocky hit the dirt right where he stood. Hyper warmbloods and passive Belgiums are not the same.

We had the quite opposite experience gelding our Percheron. Cost 200 more in meds than the vet expected. He took em like a seasoned junkie🤷🏻‍♂️

I need some advice. We got 2 young mares this spring. The one I need to deal with is very cautious. She will eat out of my hand but that's that's. What I got is she came with a harness on ( not sure why ) but her face has filled it in an is starting to bleeding an get raw. Any info on how I may be able to get it off without a handling system?

First I would ask what is your experience with horses and training? Can you touch her halter under her chin? Do you have a round pen? If so, can you get her in there? A proper session in the round pen should allow her to trust you to remove it.
