Thanks~ These turquoise are all Persian/Iranian turquoise. The mountings are a cultural thing. They use the bronze to show what gold 'might' look like next to the stone. Cheers~

Are the trace impurities in allochromatic gemstomes substitutuons, part of the crystal structure, like isomorphism? or are they trapped within the crystal lattice, like the the needles in a star sapphire?

In most situations that I am aware of, the trace elements that cause colour are a part of the chemical mix of the crystal itself, substituting out for some atoms in the normal chemical composition. Needles such as in star sapphire are exolved out of the mixture and stand as a separate mineral that the "main" crystal grows around.

Are Rhodonites same as Rhodolites? Or am I pronouncing them wrong? And the ones that you have look so similar to rubies... I ones that I work with are more purplish pink (by the way, that pear ruby is HUGGGEEE... and that color, WOW)

Im glad you enjoy our stones. Rhodolite is a type of purple garnet, and Rhodonite is a totally unrelated mineral. Oftentimes it is opaque, but we have a few pieces of quite uncommon clarity.

The best turquoise is spiderweb turquoise OR also turquoise with matrix. Godber-Burnham, Carico Lake, Candelaria, Red Mtn, Indian Mtn, Royston, Lander Blue, Lone Mountain, Nevada Blue, Apache Blue, and on and on. The BEST turquoise has inclusions! Character

I'm also a fan of the spiderweb type turquoise, though, these days I keep going further and further towards transparent/crystalline gems. Light is a very special thing.
