Gemmy Animated Life-Size 5ft Dancing Santa (Flat Base Model)

One of very few animatronics I've had since my childhood. This particular version was sold at Walmart in 2005 for $60 retail. This is the "flat base" version with the red button on the shoe, rather than in the center of the base. After many years of use, this thing still manages to pull through after a small restoration that was done to it a couple years ago. Keep in mind that it has still seen better days so it's not perfect by any means. I do plan on getting another original Santa in the near future so that should be cool. Sings the traditional 5 songs with additional phrases as well. Hope you guys enjoy!-The Gemmy Fan

I bought one last year. I got the this and the snowman for $40 over Facebook marketplace, and my Santa (black base) version will not dance. The mouth and head works but he will not dance, so how do I fix it? I have never worked in a life size before.

The belt has snapped so you would have to replace the belt to get it to dance again

I just claimed a 2006 one like this but with the brown base. He sings, head and mouth moves, but does not dance. Whenever he is supposed to dance, you can hear an additional electronic sound. Any advise on how to fix? Thanks in advance!

Brenda Morgan I just fixed mine. It's an easy fix just takes what I would call a o-ring for the belt took about an hour. Good luck

+Blake Sheward he doesn't have string, it's just a 10 tooth gear that splits.

+Gemmy Master Animatronics nvm, now when I tried force moving the mouth, I can tell that it is string controlled

There is a 2007 flat base version with no belt, no mistletoe, and. It’s either missing the glasses or doesn’t have them in that version

No they had a belt, every model has always had a belt. I know this because there's at least 3 pictures of the flat base santa with the belt in 2007.

Some collectors had them growing up, some found them at thrift stores or antique stores, and other places.

At a store where I live there was one of these by the meat section right at that door to go to the back of the store and Sence It was motion activated is scared me half to death when I was little at the time every Christmas I saw it I wouldn’t go past is sence I was so scared of it but now its cool

How you change the language on the Santa? I bought one and it sings in Spanish...I need it in English. 1 song is in English, but the rest are in spanish

There is no way to change it on these models, that's very hard to find, if the switch setting is not on the base on yours then it cant be changed, but non I have ever seen sing in Spanish

@@JDL0111 no the head can come off, it's just designed differently. Think of the knockoff lifesize Santa's mechanism.

I got this for free from my moms sisters son he said he got it from a friend and he didn’t have room for it and he gave it to me. Mine dosent have the box either 😭 I was showing it to my friends and there was a pipe leake and it was discentagrated mine works fine tho I had to replace the head my dog chewed the Pom Pom and the lip off
