Coach Mills was the GREATEST wrestler and an amazing coach now and an even better person ! 95% of what I know about wrestling came from the 1 year had him as a coach in baldwinsville ny when he was getting g his degree done to be a teacher . I was and am very blessed to say he was In my life! Now my son wrestles and he will be going to coach Mills s school and classes !

wow, wrestling has evolved so much. I can only imagine how good it will be in another 25 years

i have just went to a wrestling camp in New York that Gene held, he is an amazing wrestler. i am so honored to of had the chance to meet him

i remember going to a national champ camp here in california like two years ago and gene mills was one of the guest instructors...ahh man i have so much respect for him.

Mills was a stud, but keep in mind that Weaver had to eat to even get close to 118. Weaver won an Olympic gold medal in 1984.

Mean Gene the Pinning machine!!! 1981 was the best nationals year ever! 7 future Olympic champions In the brackets. Two pairs of brother Olympic champs in the finals! Probably the only time that will happen! HW alone top three was Banich (Olympic Champ) Severn (ufc HW champ) and Baumgardner (one of the best American wrestlers ever 2 time Olympic champ also a silver and bronze) and apparently if the one olympics wasn’t boycotted there would have been many more gold medals from those brackets!

Met Gene at his camp at Syracuse summer '87, (holy s#*t am I THAT old?) anyway, he had a few olympic champs there Art Conorton, Jeff Blatnick 2 others I can't remember. Oh yeah, Mark Kerr wrestled there at the time. Gene is a VERY cool guy.

So strong. These pinning combinations are NOT easy to execute. Mills seems to execute them at will against a world class opponent.
