Is the silver push button a latching switch or momentary? Did you do any modifications to make it automatically switch back when power is restored? I thought that the 12v- controlled the transfer but maybe that’s secondary to utility power position. 🤔

Look, It's Brilliant, and the Video very Helpful. But I just don't see that this switch is worth doing over a 240V 200Amp Manual Transfer switch, since your not using the auto functions really anyway. But Great Work!

yeah you are right but I wanted to make it as simple as possible for my family to operate when im not home.. its really helpful to have it switch back automatically to utility power when the power comes back on. No back and for to check if the power has been restored. Plus I have the option to make this 100% automatic in the future. all I need is to add a controller to the generator. thanks,

It is Useful on the Switchback, so It does Make sense. Maybe an Arduino could get it Fully Auto!

Hey How do you like your 803 ? I guess you have essential only appliances. Maybe some lights. Nice video

I really do like the generator. The funny thing is before I got the gen we would lose power a lot. We're just far enough out of town were we are always last to get power restored. But since I have gotten it, we've only lost power a few times and not for very long. Where we live it doesn't get really hot so no central ac and the last house on town water. So the 803 is plenty big enough for our needs.

Thinking about this exact setup for our house. Can I ask where you purchased your generator? And also what model is the transfer switch, and where did you find the best deal on both the generator and switch?

I got the generator from www.govplanet.com. the Wednesday auctions. I picked up the TS from an electrician that ordered the switch for a project but the customer backed out on. craigslist... ill have to get the model number... sorry for delay on reply

Red should be "Emergency" power, green should be commercial or normal power.

Please show better video of how you hooked up the led lights and hooking up battery to make switch work.

Ok. It may take a few days to get that. As far as 12v, I ran 2 additional wires from the generator battery to the switch. I'll show in video. Also I'm going to run an other set of 120v wires from the switch back to the gen to generator to power batter maintainer.

@@ssnider7967 Thanks, I have pretty much the same setup. Generac ATS and a aftermarket generator. I am looking for exactly what you have a way how to get the transfer to happen. I love the led lights and the push button switch. Might mention where you purchased them...lol

I would also love to see more detail on the control wiring. I wanna hook up my hatz diesel generator the same way
