You have to remember the dark side nexus under the jedi temple. They thought it was neutralized and under their control, and had mostly forgotten about it. But with Palpatine around, this was no longer the case. If it ever actually was.

@Darth Revan they barely even tried to guide him and they're the ones that had the audacity to doubt him. Obi-wan was there for him, but he wasn't enough. If Qui-gon were still alive, Anakin would've already clapped Palpatine's cheeks and that would've been the end of it lmao Qui-gon was the only person who was willing to train him and had faith in him, not to mention he was like a father figure to anakin. While Obi-wan simply put too much trust in Anakin

Tbh I dont think the jedi made any mistakes they were tested by the force and they passed by staying true to the jedi code and the force ( Obi Wan spared Anakin on Mustafar which leads to him killing Palpatine later on and Yoda doesn't try to kil Palpatine in their duel but only to disarm him and force him to submit, he didnt give in to his desire to kill him and followed the jedi code even if he knew what would happen if he didn't kill Palpatine and thus was given the oportunity later on to train Luke and revice the Jedi Order, the sith were a test and the jedi passed with flying collors.) @@2Based23 the jedi made plenty of mistakes. There is a difference between mercy and blind adherence to a dogmatic principle of the concept of mercy. This is seen by the jedi who dont hang around the temple and basically get brainwashed with dogma of what is essentially a religion actually being useful. The Jedi made the massive mistake that we have made throughout history: they turned a nice idea in to a religion and if you dont follow it (the code) then you are a sith. An irony since suposedly only sith deal in absolutes. Yoda was an old decrepit creature who allowed the sith to continue operating and deserved to watch his order destroyed. It was poetic justice that Anakin is the harbinger of Jedi destruction, since they were so worried about Anakin going dark side they tried to prevent it and basically caused him to go dark. The more I look in to the jedi vs sith mindsets the more I come to learn that only one of them has ever been right. Traya. The Force makes slaves of both sides, and is a danger. When the Sith are in power, at least they are predictable. The jedi created a large era of peace, this bred complacency and blindness. At the head of this was Yoda, and Mundi, both of whom recieved exactly what they deserved for blindly adhering to dogma. Not to cross fandoms here but theres a group of folks wearing white who make a good point in this case: where others blindly follow the truth, know that nothing is true. The jedi philosophy is too restrictive to allow what must be done. When others are bound by morality and law, remember everything is permitted. In summary: Sith evil, Jedi no better. Granted, this is all my observation as a very very very casual fan. I'm not that versed in starwars lore, mostly because it seems no one can agree what that lore is, so I hang in other fandoms that can actually agree what is lore. But, at any rate...I have to disagree, if they did nothing wrong because of the code, then the jedi deserved to be destroyed because they were, at their core, useless.

or all the other crap they did to him, the jedi bassically tried to control anakin from day 1 while making him an outsider and looking down on him, hell if that's not a way to drive someone to the dark side idk what is, it only proves the jedi order deserved what they got coming to them

@Darth Revan This may be true, but it should be remembered that the very first time they met Anakin they all *mocked* him for his completely normal emotions of being scared at that moment when surrounded by strangers. The Jedi knew he was an older student and as such would have a harder time subduing his emotions but still would ignore him when asking for help dealing with said emotions just like in episode 3 when Yoda just tells Anakin to deal with it when he mentions his nightmares of people close to him dying

They messed up long before that even. Their entire approach to Anakin was wrong. They treated him poorly and with suspicion, leading to a self fulfilling prophecy. Mace was openly against his training, refused to teach him and continued to disapprove even more than a decade into his training and despite his accomplishments

@Darth Revan except he only acted that way due to the hypocrisy of the jedi. His snapping point was them making him violate the jedi code to spy, mace violating it to kill Palpatine. And their complete failure to actually make him feel like a welcome member. They othered him from day one and never gave him a true chance. Especially windu

The is marines are at a serious technological disdvantage But according to stats, firearms are way deadlier but more primitive, idk abt the us marines abt armor tho EDIT: so the reason why ppl use blasters instead of slugthrowers (basically firearms and ballistic weaponry) was because blasters are better at penetrating armor, and EVEN tho slugthrowers are far more effective to jedi, they are a pretty rare sight to see in the galaxy, let alone fight....

Actually, I dont think that's the case. Anakin was pretty outraged that the council had already made up their minds before the trial. Now, this could be bc Anakin didn't actually know, possible, how it would work, but I got the sense from the Council meeting beforehand that it was pretty unusual for them to just pass a verdict like that. Reminds me of Yarael Poof's (sorry if I misspelled it) rant in Robot Chicken.

Because plot demanded it. The whole ark was poorly written. I had to go to the internet to understand why the characters made the dumb decision that they made. I'm still not convinced.

I agree with both points

Yoda values life and he absolutely would not sacrifice his friends, just so the Force could reset the Order. He was visibly traumatized during Order 66 and his vision during TCW. The Jedi were losing their integrity, however that was due largely to the manipulations of Palpatine. Had Mace succeeded in killing him and restoring power to the Senate, the Sith would no longer be influencing politics.

What about in Grandmaster Luke's order in Legends/EU?

TCW already showed that if Yoda teamed up with anyone not named Mace, it would have been a liability to fight Palpatine; because the Sith always exploit the Jedi's compassion for their allies and the innocent. Obi-Wan was too weak to be of any use against Palpatine. Yoda knew he had to go alone so he wouldn't have any distractions. And by dividing their forces, they could potentially take out both Sith Lords at the same time.

I still believe that it was very unrealistic for that decision to not lead to a Jedi Civil War. Because their must have been some Jedi who saw it as an abomination! And proof that not only the Jedi Council had lost its way but the Republic, as well. I would have gone Salarian STG: Captain Kirrahe & Commander Shepard on the Krogan Cloning Facility against the Kamino Cloning Facility and wiped it off the map!

tbh if we’re being honest they should’ve did a full scan on the clones to see if they’ve been tampered with bc i dont know how sidious hid the chips from the force

@@ednamodee The Clone Wars covered this. Furthermore, the Jedi are not all-knowing and their clairvoyance was already diminished by the start of the war. The inhibitor chips also are not tainted by the dark side, so there would be no reason for them to raise a red flag.

This, all of Anakin's life rafts (besides Padme) were off world at the moment when he was drowning. And Padme was no help at this point bc he was worried about her. Rex and Ahsoka were at the siege of Mandalore, Kenobi was off fighting Grievous, and then even Yoda had to go shut up Master "But what of the Wookies". It was all according to Papa Palpatine's plan, but did yall have to gift wrap him?
