The clones were truly the most tragic characters out of all the Clone Wars era characters. Just imagine being created and raised to fight in a war that was purposely engineered to allow a Sith to take control of a Republic and turn it into an Empire. Imagine having no voice and free will to protest fighting in what was essentially a sham war that did nothing but ruin a galaxy.

Even with the clones murdering the Jedi and some of my favorite characters. Seeing that trooper broken and discarded, begging in the streets. It truly hurts my heart, makes my think of a lot of my classmates from high school sold the lie of the US military. I think it probably has a few different triggers of sorts. remember when Wolffe almost went ballistic in rebels upon a light saber being ignited, despite knowing the Jedi are cool, and having had some treatment of the chip, even if clearly not the full package. I think it's like it overwrites your mind, but it cannot always be doing that, it kinda needs reminders and triggers for it. Like initially during the great Jedi purge, all clones who received the order were 100% being controlled by the chip, that's why their personalities are almost completely swept away for that time, barely even bubbling up when prompted (example, the whole Jesse thing in the hangar). However after it's done it partly retreats in the clones mind, how fully and how the differences between individual clones work, idk but it does I think, and it's fully re-activated when a trigger for that clone appears, such as something directly connecting to the presence of a Jedi, not as that person, but specifically as a Jedi. so basically my theory is that the clone recognised Obi-Wan, but due to the programming being so far back in his mind, and him not recieving a trigger (like if Ben started talking about Jedi stuff and ignited his lightsaber in front of the clone) he didn't go full order 66. At that moment he saw obi wan as not a Jedi, the people who he has directives to eliminate, but as someone who fought same as him.

You can also tell that the tragic pursuit of individuality.... becoming a Name, not a Number, would be a cornerstone of any Clone's long-term survival once abandoned by the Empire. The rabid pursuit of conformity from the New Order and First, Order, reducing Stormtroopers to their Operating Number, rather than any Name is part of the "Lessons Learned" from the Clone Army and implemented in War Mantle's transition.

I still think a big reason why the Empire failed was because they completely got rid of clone troopers. I understand cutting expenses, however you could keep a million troopers on standby for great conflicts. The clones would have decimated the Rebellion. Granted they would be fighting organics vs droids but the Rebels did not have the training clones did. Also in order to cut costs, you could research a way to only have accelerated aging up to a certain point. Then it continues naturally. That way clones can serve longer, have a future, and be able to retire.

Sorry but the Empire's failing had very little to do with the getting rid of the clones ... Had everything to do with the fear, backstabbing, glory seeking, gross incompetence and general nonsupport within the ranks themselves ... Why help a fellow officer if their downfall or death would help in upward mobility in the ranks for yourself ??? Plus all the clones still had those bio chips in their heads with all the other contingecy orders Palatine had put in them ... Wouldn't be good if someone could turn your army against you ... The Jedi found that out the hard way remember ???

In Rome, when a legion (members of which were usually recruited at the same time) finished it's term of service, the surviving members were each given land in the same area of a conquered territory, and were allowed to keep all of their armour and weapons. This meant if there was an invasion or uprising, there was a large contingent of trained legionaries, seasoned on the battlefield together, and loyal to the Roman Empire, to act as a local militia to deal with the issue. The benefits of this should be pretty obvious. The Galactic Empire would have done well to have used this same tactic. They may have even shut down the rebel scum early if they had.

In Legends there was mention of other clone lines, with the Fett clones being but one of many diverse batches. That's an interest way to look at it. Back before the Prequels came out, I was fascinated by the Clone Wars as a concept. In the books, there were only vague references and confusing accounts about what happened. Just a moment ago, I tried to verify which OIFs I had taken part in, only to find the terminology I was using doesn't match the readily available information. This makes the Empire's rise make so much more sense than it used to, both canon and legends. Makes the good writing feel so much more real, the evil so much more ominous.

They deserved much more respect after the Clone Wars ended. Also, the Jedi had it coming. We don't need a bunch of space cultists operating outside the rule of law in order to fulfill their own dogma.

I would've loved to have seen (and would've improved upon the show) the Clone Trooper recognize Obi Wan and continue to fulfill his allegiance to the Republic and the Jedi by assisting him in finding Leia. Perhaps giving his last to protect him against the Grand Inquisitor as Obi Wan and Leia made their escape.

Cody already alive in The Bad Batch season 2 and become ally to The Bad Batch, his Own series teaser coming to D23 Expo, according to Disney, Cody will be stay alive until The Mandalorian season 3 or 4. Also there 212th clone was Crys, who was stuck in prison in Kashyyyk and clone force 99 will rescue him, much like Kix, Crys was possible that he was Frozen in at the end of Bad Batch season 2 or Star Wars: Commander Cody series.

The Clones were HAD By Sidious Just Like the Jedi, Just Like Everyone Else! So Ya, I Have No Animosity Against the Clones Whatsoever! They were Lied to, Used and Abused then Cast Aside by Sidious Just Like Everyone! The One and Only Real Enemy in All of This is Darth Sidious! And As for Sidious, I Seriously Don't Think He Could Suffer a More Long and Torturus Enough Death! That Sick Twisted Evil Being Deserves to Suffer All the Pain, Fear, Suffering and Death He Caused Each and Every Person, Clone, Jedi or Otherwise Misery Throughout the Entire Galaxy and Generations to Come that would Still Be Suffering the Effects of What Sidious Did FOREVER!!!!! His Misery Should Be Endless and Boundless! And Only Maybe Then Would there be Justice!

First of all, loved that scene in Kenobi for a lot of reasons, most of which you talked about in the video. That being said, do you think it was a poor choice to use a clone from the 501st? I thought it was still canon that the 501st continued to be Vader’s fist until they all eventually died and were replaced by non-clone soldiers. If that is still true, then the only way that a 501st clone could end up like the one in Kenobi is if he got too old, but besides being out of shape that clone looks like he still has a couple years left.

what's sad is you describing the Clones is basically like how they treat our military now, and back in the day my father who was an immigrant from Sicily came over in the late 50s at that time when he was 18 Vietnam was going on he didn't agree with the war but because of what this country gave him he felt it was his duty to serve the country that gave him so much. However when he got back people at the airport spitting on them calling him a baby killer all kinds of messed up things. a lot of Vietnam vets were homeless addicted to heroin. the VA was a joke. now fast forward my brother he wants to join the Army he is married 19 with his first child on the that way they can have a house and she'll be taken care of God forbid anything and he wants to him. join the Army my father told him something about what he went through and what he experienced and just wanted him to prepare himself. my brother was actually a war hero he got a purple heart and it's not and it's not because he just stumped his toe, it's because a roadside bomb blew up right by him and tank plate fell on his head he had to get Staples in his head and it really fractured his jaw and the doctors fucked because he healed his jaw healed crookedly. plus he has a traumatic brain injury. my brother did two tours in Iraq thank God he's okay but he was faced with of the hardest moral choices that you'll ever have to face. and 11 year old boy was shooting at HIS platoon and had him pin down and my brother had to make the choice and he ended a young kids life my father and my brother both have . so when my brother came home went to the VA they just tried to throw narcotics at them Percocet Xanax and drowning it with a bottle of whiskey a day. but eventually he got the help that he needed and he's got a lot better. my dad he's still a whack job but he's the man what's sad is even though the VA sucks still they do have some resources during the Vietnam era they had no resources whatsoever. so my brother now needs to get his jaw fixed because the doctors didn't properly wire his jaw. but now the VA will not pay for the surgery. but this is what really gets me upset if he wants to get a sex change that he could get for free and if he was an illegal alien he could get a house. I guess it all depends on who's the president at the time but yeah bye to really caught a lot of funding this wasn't supposed to be political but you it's the truth

I’m not too sure about that. I think they’re army. Their kit is highly reminiscent of imperial army colonial defense force. It would make more sense that theyre army. They also wear camo like the imperial army does, and their suits aren’t hermetically sealed like imperial army kit.

The one reason that's not talked about for phasing out the clones is that control chip. How much is any Sith Lord going to trust soldiers that they KNOW have programming chips in their brains, made by a third party? That's why I don't like the lore about Palpatine having an ex-clone trooper as a guard. He'd always suspect that the Kaminoans might have hid some other tricks in that chip. That they could compromise the clones to get at him after he turned on them after the clone wars. I think the Emperor would DEEPLY distrust the clones, they were a necessary risk right up until order 66, then they were nothing but a liability. TBH I think the only reason he didn't mass execute them as soon as he was done with them was he still had to keep the senate on board at that time.
