Chris, I love your review. My Cherokee xj has jw speaker headlights and I just got an evo2 for my 2007 Harley Electra glide. You just can't go wrong with JW Speaker products. Once you get over the sticker shock and use real engineered lighting products you will never look at lighting the same.

headlight revolution is absolutely right. I owned pair of these and some other Chinese lights before I bought JW speaker evo 2, and you just can't compare the two. I'm a headlight fanatic always looking for better visibility and probably have a dozen of pairs of different headlights in my garage. Some chinese some US made. But none compare to American made JW speaker.

What I don't get.. the low beam normally stays on when putting on high beam. This can also be seen when you're shining on the wall. So the picture at the and of the video is not a realistic pic of the high beam. And then the second thing I noticed, the cutoff lines of the low beam are shifted downward when you put the high beam on. Putting the lux meter above the cutoff line and thus measuring less.. Btw I like your videos and I'm the last one to say those Chinese lights are the best. But it bugs me when it looks like it is all manipulated.

just curious did you try swapping the LED bulbs between the housings from the JW to the knockoff? That would make a fair comparison, If that can be done. Honestly what JW charges for a pair of headlights is a bit much. However, I do understand build quality. Its funny... Gibson guitars have lost a ton of money due to these Chinese builders. Gibson is also the one that sent them business in the first place, only to save a buck. At least these Chinese knockoffs don't say JW on the product. Like they do with Gibson. Did JW do the same in the past? Made in USA vs Assembled in USA. Thanks for your time.

Just installed a set by Brit Part on my Defender (Cree LEDs). Very happy with the first results. Sharp cut-off and far reaching, down range low beam, amazing high beam. I like the video comparison by Chris, but don't get why he is so negative on this set. Just compare the images in the video and judge for yourself! Yes, there is a blue line at the cut-off and yes, when using one light, there is a dual cut-off line, but not disturbing at all. Based on my first experience, highly recommended and no need for a more expensive set.

Lousy deception where is the in depth rating of the other headlights? I mean wasted my time with this one! Where is the objective comparisons of the table of lights? Seems like a critic of the Chinese headlight only...no comparison of anything!

Right, why the hell people fall for and purchase knock off cheap Chinese made light bulbs. Probably not even DOT approved. You get what you paid.

One sided. Last time I checked, most jeeps used two headlights. This would effectively double the specs. You low beam image and high beam image test would be greatly improved if you had two beams. So they lack behind in some specs, but I'm betting they are acceptable and at a fraction of the cost a good value. Not all of these cheap lights get bad connectors or have them fail. Again, you don't look at the cost. Personally, I and many others would be handy enough to re-crimp or solder the wires back on. A PIA, yes, but I would rather solder or re-crimp BOTH my lights before I install them regardless if they have this issue or not to save several hundred dollars. The rest of your dislikes "not well built" have no substance to them, aside form the connector. Not DOT approved, what does this mean anyways? Will being DOT approved make these break proof? What does having this regulation REALLY do in a real world application? Color of the light is subjective. Have you not seen all the kids with the blue HID head lights? Purple headlights etc? So these are a little blue, big deal. I call BS on the fan. Show us. I didn't see any vents on teh back side that would be required to draw in air or expel hot air. I'm not saying the JW speaker lights are bad, they just aren't 3-4 times the cost better. Sounds like your in business with them to try and shoot down a cost effective alternative.
