We hope you enjoy our reproducing of the Genesis 1978 Mirrors tour for the album And Then There Were Three. We used both fan filmed amateur footage from all over the world (mainly of very good to excellent quality! and old professionally shot footage from Japan, France, & Knebworth to recreate a typical 1978 Mirrors/And Then There Were Three tour. Virtually no stills or animation is used. This concert is practically all video footage. Lots of great shots, concert runs excellent and we are confident you will enjoy this one. I find a warm "movie" picture setting for your TV is best for optimal viewing. Audio is A+ Soundboard from Chicago, October 13, 1978.
Please purchase the album this tour supported. Genesis And Then There Were Three

You cannot get more "Super Group" than this. Genesis is the definition of Super Group. They were one of the first groups that composed and arranged songs greater than 10 minutes, which kept them in the realm of FM. They had a number of short/pop songs for AM play. But, their treasures were put into the frequency modulation side of broadcasting where clarity was optimized. Thank God for FM and Genesis.

When "Seconds out" was published, it was the first time in my life I heard "Cinema Show", when it was played on the radio. I thought "wow, this song is phantastic, I must buy the record with the studio-version". I already knew some records with Peter, but not "Selling". After getting the record of course I thought about, which singer is better, but I never came to a solution. I love Peter AND Phil. Genesis in the seventies - really awesome. Just Steve's guitar-playing is very important because he's got a wonderful tone.

Jeez, I am a Genesis fan, from 1st hearing this in 77, i am not exagerrating but i must have played it a thousand times, i had never heard anything like that, i sort of became addicted to it, i would play it on a loop, about 1 hour at a time, continually, over, & over, & over again, i learnt to drum the whole instrumental, almost inch perfect, the build up, the crescendo, within a cruscendo, the intensity, the depth, the seperate sections, that take it away, & then bring it back, its just the most perfect instrumental, i have heard many great instrumentals, but nothing like this, i would really like to hear something with this intensity, but in doubt that i will.

One of my friends got Phil's tamborine after "I know what I like" and the mirrors were fantastic. I have never seen a video that has shown them in action. The uptempo sample from “Riding the Scree” that Banks inserted at 9.47 is perfectly in tune and tone with the mood, tempo and whole direction of this instrumental piece. I wonder if he had this filed away somewhere subconsciously for years, only for it to emerge later, on The Lamb?

probably so. This is the first tour where they replace the minor section of Cinema Show (which gets really complicated rhythmically) with the "Riding the Scree" riff.

I’m going to shell out 200 bucks to see them in Charlotte, mostly just to hear Tony play this keyboard solo! It won’t be as good as this but I don’t care
