I can absolutely read in dreams but if I look away for a second it keeps changing what it says. I get a bunch of dreams where I'm trying to type or text or whatever, and it's always impossible to pull off without making mistakes because the words keep changing.

I don't know why logic in our brain just doesn't work as intended when dreaming a lot. I remember having a scary dream about Ocarina of Time when I was really young where I was playing as Link or something, but I kinda actually WAS Link and talking through link in third person perspective (dream things) riding a cow while surrounded by a ton of ReDeads. The cow wouldn't move and then I was like "I know! Cows need milk!" I fed a bottle of Lon Lon Milk to the cow and it then mooed, COLLAPSED and DIED right under me. Why the heck would I feed cow's milk to an adult cow, anyway? And why would it DIE?

I can read words completely fine in my dreams (maybe because a large part of my dreams revolve around words and the actions surrounding them), and most technology works in my dreams as well. One of my most recent ones involved playing a video game, and I had vivid tactile feelings of a controller in one hand and a mouse in the other (it's a control scheme for quake ii on the ps1), and actively made the connection that moving those moved me on the screen. I felt those buttons being pressed rather than feeling like i was the character moving around. None of mine have involved lightswitches, but that felt close enough to compare.
