@@RedFeng007 foreman would likely lose at that age but he had tools to trouble all 3 of them. Lewis tended to paw with his jab while Foreman hammered it with bad intentions so in a jab war he might have the advantage. Lewis was also weak to big right hands and Foreman had one of the deadliest. Bowe was sloppy, easy to hit, and would be willingly stepping forward. Those are bad ingredients against Foreman. Tyson cannot fight backing up and his short height and arms will mean he will have a disadvantage with George's shoving and mauling. Plus he had a monster uppercut.

All they see are how big he is and his scary knockouts. They forget he learned from some pretty smart veteran trainers, Dick Sadler, Archie Moore, Gil Clancey, Angelo Dundee. @aiyahuntacheimumbi236
@aiyahuntacheimumbi236 4 жыл бұрын
We meet again Lol George Foreman was actually a pretty slow starter in many of his Prime fights as he became settled into professional career. His fights with Frazier, Norton, and Lyle immediately come to mind. Aside from an occasional opening punch to get his opponents on their toes he usually spent the first round or so patiently stalking and mostly neutralizing his opponent's best punch, often the jab, but in Frazier's case the left hook, and then once they lost faith in their hands that's when Foreman would usually start to test them with his jab or right hands to the body. His fast start and performance against Ali was very out of character from his usual self at that point in his career but I think that one fight is where he gets his reputation as a fighter unable to pace himself.

@cygnusprime6728 4 жыл бұрын
@@Shovelhook Tyson was definitely not a pressure fighter. He wasn't very good on the inside and was easy to tie up and grapple. A pressure fighter is one who throws non stop punches (volume) and steps forward constantly to hammer away at the body or a barrage upstairs. Guys like Julio cesar Chavez, Jake lamotta, Henry Armstrong, Joe Frazier, Shawn Porter, etc. They want to either win the decision by being the busier fighter or break you down slowly for a mid to late round stoppage or knock out. Tyson didn't have the stamina or work rate to be classified as a pressure fighter. He was a slugger looking for an early KO, not a guy looking to out work you or break you down. Tyson also had good counter punching skills. His game plan was to either knock you out with one big hit or blitz you and land a powerful combination with high speed and power.

@@colorado2455 Very True. Young Foreman possibly had the smoothest most effective ring cutting skills in Heavyweight history. I asked and he told me that he purposely let guys off the ropes after Zaire. His change in footwork and new use of the jab in his 2nd career reminds me much of Sonny Liston and did make him more susceptible to runners like Liston in the Ali fights I believe. Although both cases could just as easily have been old legs lol During his 1st career George actually took fewer punches than any other heavyweight champion in history with his original long shoving mummy guard.

Was very difficult for fighters to get their body attack in on him with that cross-arm defense. Really had to feint & mix it up overall to get something off George.

1:38the motion of the uppercut, he did it with that slow walking forward and that straight fast move going up from his body, just the same as he did against jerry cooney

What a cowardly move by Foreman’s opponent at 1:39. And Foreman pulled his punches before it too! (Also Foreman’s casual leverage block at the end XD )

Big George Foreman his defense was predicated by none other than Archie "The Mongoose" Moore a great fighter in his day and I'd say that cross arm defense worked out for George, but just imagine if he had head movement and had a boxer/puncher style instead of a slugger style Big George probably would have been the greatest HW boxer ever, but he's still a great fighter and is in my top 5 of greatest HW boxers, good job Hanzagod.
