This is the sound that the hollow body guitar was made for. George Thorogood is the most dynamic live performer I ever saw on stage. This man could really work a crowd.

Definition of ROCK & ROLL. What George lacks in technique and chops he more than makes up for in ego, attitude, sheer energy and unmatched showmanship!

On the back of watching this on a black and white telly I went to the record shop and the fella made a phone call and told me it had been imported and I could pick it up next weekend. I was listening to the Stones, Zep, Floyd, Dylan, but this geezer for some obscure reason introduced me into Blues in a rebellious way. Then I came across Rory Gallagher and Robert Johnson etc. and it gave me a broad spectrum and horizon with Music. All of 17 years young and I feel so lucky that that any genre of music if it's good lifts my heart and soul 40 + years down the line .Thankyou Mr Thorogood.

I saw George Thorogood live at an outdoor festival. He wrapped a Bandana around his head and was ready to rock. He rocked the crowd with his slide guitar and charisma for over an hour! He would not quit! Here he even did a few Chuck Berry Duck Walks. He’s one of the few who knows how to do it right! One great song after another! He’s great live and I thought that’s real rock n roll. No Gimmicks! A bad attitude and a slide and a few power chords. When people heard the slide for Bad to the Bone they went nuts! Good times!

I saw him live at a summer festival once. He had a Bandanna on his head and he rocked the place! One hour of pure Rock n Roll! I thought, now that’s Rock n Roll! What a player and showman! He plays a mean slide guitar! 🎸 Everyone was drained after the show. We were tired but it was a good tired! He wore everyone out! 👏🏻🎸😎

Saw George just 8 weeks prior to this show. He did 2 nights at the Cabooze Bar in Minneapolis. Two sets each night. Was there both nights. Got all 3 guys to autograph my copy of "Move It On Over" LP. Still got it. Have seen them another 4 times since, but it was never as good as those first 2 nights.

If this dude had turned up at my Scottish college, I’d have dropped out and hit the road with him, and my beat up old strat, and my beer bottle slide. Grew up on this, absolutely awesome- thanks for posting this video, it truly encapsulates the raw nature of the destroyers, and shows future generations this is how it was done. Lonesome George could teach his idols ( the Rolling Stones, Beatles, American master blues men like screaming Jay Hawkins) a few things. Definitely earned his place in the hall of fame, absolute legend!🤣

George Thorogood is part of my Top 5 of best concerts I have ever seen! The mid 1990's at Sun Tan Lake (no more) in Riverdale, NJ. Hot Tuna opened beautifully, but George and the Destroyers kicked MAJOR ASS! Sounded so good! He OWNED that stage!!!

He puts his iconic copper slide on at 21:15 and leaves it on for Madison Blues, Delaware Slide, and Who Do You Love. I'm pretty sure it goes back to his earliest days. I saw him in the mid 70s at JC Dobbs on South Street in Philadelphia and he was already using it.
