It's not the harmony, on piano this wouldn't be that catchy. It's the natural tone of their voices that makes it purrfect

Well... this, and also the fact that a piano is not a sustained note instrument. As soon as you play a note it starts dying off. Whereas with strings or/and winds you can sustain said harmony to outline it, even vibrato it or tremollo it slightly, to really FEEL it. Yes the piano is kinda the ultimate harmonic instrument, but it's no Organ or Accordion.

Ikr, and people are thinking that this is real and isn't compressed. (I don't have a problem with people compressing their singing (it makes a cool sound), but making out like it isn't, by sitting in a room with no mics and not in a studio or non-echoy room is something I don't like with tic tok singing.

Singing in the shower and for my local synagogue, as well as playing guitar for myself and my family has never felt anything but good and I refuse to enter such a toxic industry. Gotta enjoy what you do for a living, but also gotta make sure it’s not going to kill said joy eventually.

First the backing track that they play over the second track which means that they recorded it in this setup and not seperate so using autotune instantly becomes way harder. And the second reason is the little slides on some notes where they don't instantly hit the notes

@@EINSAnti record it individually, post process with autotune, go back and lip-sync. Particularly on the first section you hear two voices but they are impossibly in tune with one another in a very difficult vocal register.

@@EINSAntiautotune doesn't automatically apply to all notes. In post processing it can be applied to whichever note you choose. This is 100% pitch corrected, no doubt about it.

@@EINSAntiit is more likely pitch corrected with a tool like melodyne in post which is not the same as auto tune and gives more natural less robotic results than the t-pain type of autotune which processes in realtime

That's a very interesting question, actually! I also believe it can depend on how early you start singing. I think you can be gifted with a very advantageous starting point, but with enough work and training, anyone can eventually sound pretty decent.

Once again sounds like pitchcorrection was applied....... I seriously can't trust anything anymore. I wish I could just sit down and enjoy people singing. I can't guarantee that this is not the natural sound of their voices... And pitchcorrection is not a bad thing don't get me wrong. The problem to me is making it look like they are just naturally sounding like this in that space. Which I just doubt... Yup. (No I am not talking about the recording in the background)

Music moves you. I'm autistic, and singing is a major stim for me, as I'm sure it is to many other people, autistic or not. Being forced to restrain from letting yourself externally express what you feel when you sing sounds... I don't know, just not fun. It makes sense if you're supposed to be performing in a very professional choir or something, but I've seen people in choirs freely move and dance as they sing, and it's so much more evident that they are entrenched in their music and truly enjoying what they're doing, and it absolutely reflects in how they sound.
