This song is one of my favorites. i play it on the piano sometimes. (other performers Eric Clapton i recognize, others i recognize but not certain of their names. it's so moving they not only perform one another's songs but sing and play it with the same passion as if the song's their own. Absolutely! This song came out when I was 8, but I didn't hear it until I was a little older. Our neighbor had a bunch of Beatles records, and invited our family over to listen to Abbey Road. I loved it. He told me that any time I wanted to come listen to more, I could. I took him up on that. He played this song for me, among many others, and I was hooked.

The Prince solo is perhaps more entertaining, but Clapton's solo wrings every last ounce of emotion from the song. Bravo.

It's worth noting however, Marc Mann carried most of the backing solo parts on behalf of Eric so that EC could focus on the lead vocal. Of course, out of deference to EC, Marc went into arpeggio mode during EC's main solo, but it was Marc Mann who was actually doing most of the backing solo work through the length of the concert. Excellent teamwork all round.

@@SuperAllanjames Well as you know George persuaded Eric to come in and do some overdubs at Abbey Road on WMGGW and those totally changed the tone of the track to a much more rock feel. According to Mark Lewisohn's book Eric's commanding solo lines inspired the other Beatles to "try a bit harder" on George's song and the results speak for themselves. Soon after George reciprocated by co-writing Badge with Eric.

エリックのギター演奏、ジョージも天国から拍手しているだろうなぁ。 それにしても、エリックのギターは、圧巻ですね。ビートルズの当時、ジョージがレコーディングで演奏を依頼したのがよく分かります。 I'm sure George will be clapping from heaven as Eric plays the guitar. Anyway, Eric's guitar is amazing. It is clear that at the time of the Beatles, George asked him to perform on the recording.
