This is absolutely a slept on game for the most part, due to the public image being very much “booty shooter.” I know that for the longest time I ignored for that reason. I decided to try it one day, due to boredom, and was quickly surprised by a very interesting story that drew me in. I remember going through the story and quickly being drawn in by the characters and world, to the point of crying at the end of the first chapter. This is one of those games where I absolutely would recommend it to someone, as long as they can overlook the “booty shooter” aspect.

Tungsten is about the pilgrims who were betrayed by the humanity who they saved from extinction and are just roaming the no mans land that is the earth endlessly.

You should try another bgm, my recommendation is -Ultra boss theme -Nihilister boss theme -kraken boss theme -A.C.P.U Freeze -Cash shop bgm (I feel so alive) -Boom day

Like what many would say, it's a game we came for the 'plot' and stayed for the plot. What sealed the deal were the Over Zone and Red Ash event stories: I knew I would be staying in the game after that. Also, they cooked some of the most fun things I've seen from a gacha for this year's April Fools. Interested to see what they're cooking for their 1.5 Year Anniversary! Anniversaries are probably a great time to start the game as they have given out a lot of goodies for the previous ones too. That said, would like to recommend more OSTs from Nikke: - New Year, New Sword theme song, "Camellia" - A.C.P.U.! Freeze! theme song, "A.C.P.U.! Behind Nikke’s fanservicey facade there are some very deep, meaningful stories, life lessons, themes of the human condition. Lots of depresso espresso with a healthy mix of happiness and comedy. Action packed rail shooter gameplay. All backed up by probably one of the if not the best soundtracks I’ve heard in any game. Amazing gacha structure, top tier character designs. I almost feel like the fanservicey parts while nice and all have kinda taken a backseat because of how well the game connects and attaches you and makes you really love (or hate) each and every character. Everyone should give Nikke a shot if you haven’t already!

The music in this game definitely slaps. I am a day one player and it amazes me how much effort is put into this game. Just makes me appreciate it even more. FYI red Hood is getting a new theme song. Hope you’re there to cover it. 😊

The main story of the game is actually very good. I was originally kinda turned off cause of the booty shooty memes that is the majority of the ads with it. Once past that it’s quite gripping. Event stories have been a bit hit or miss imo, but the major ones are incredibly well written. The main plot is that humanity is forced to live in an underground city after a race of killing machines called Raptures wiped out most of the planet. In order to combat that, scientists made the Nikkes, which are human brains in bio-mechanical bodies (they are as close to human as possible outside of strength and battle capabilities in order to not have the brain go into a catatonic state from the discrepancy). They do have mass produced ones with basic functions, but most special ones (the ones you roll for) maintain most of their personalities or proclivities from their past life (if they weren’t criminals, as some were voluntary conversions, while others were a sentence). The last two songs were the vocal themes from the 1 year and Half year anniversary events respectively, which are the greatest writing in the game currently, with the 1.5 year anniversary happening in a couple weeks

All I can say about Satellites is that it's a song that's completely transformed when you gain context from when you first hear it. That was the moment when the game truly captured me.

This game is a masterpiece, ngl at first i came for the booty shooter, but now i stay for the absolute banger Ost and the God Tier World Building and Story Writing Its so frickin good man, i can't get enough with the story in this game 🔥 Also the easiest explanation of what the Nikke's is, i would say A Very Advanced Android/Cyborg created from the Perfect Image of the Human that are being turned into (the only organic material in their body is proly the blood and The Brain from their Human Body). Nikke's mostly created for Combat to fight the Raptures, but at some occasion some of em were made to work in variety of Jobs aswell 👍🏻

Red ash was the best or second best event we got, and the theme song is the best to feel the fire and passion of red hood, but you should also listen to "hold you tight" from the same event, this song is full on feels but still sooooooo good

I started Nikke because of Elegg. I got depression instead.

For the Red Ash theme you need to watch the Red Ash event cinematic. It does the song a lot more justice.

I recommend the boss themes Inferno of Nihilster, The Collector, and Daybreak for more NIKKE songs. OST is fantastic, and definitely playlist worthy. You're an AmaLee fan, so I also recommend Nikke's Miracle Snow event, which features a character she voices, Rupee, a wealthy shopaholic looking to give Anne, a girl with memory problems, a Christmas to remember.

Yo i love seeing people react to nikkes music, its one of the best parts of the game. Id recommend just binging it. You wont be disappointed.

These songs out of context do sound general, then you remember that Satellites is the theme song of a Nikke taking a step forward after getting betrayed, after her mental madness, and the "this is not the end" there is her deciding that those that betrayed her will pay the dearest price, setting into motion a plan that spanned a century.

I came across this from my local streamer playing the beta test, and the prologue hit me hard emotionally. So I play it day 1, and looking forward to how the story unfold.

Satellites seems like a hopeful song of determination. And that's the most tragic bit of it, a beautiful contradiction to the story of OverZone (OZ) with Dorothy (a Nikke with the same story of The Wizard of OZ), she's the featured character in this story, the one on this song video and the leader in the story, she goes through a very rough heart wrenching time on this one...

The songs and the story actually correlate a lot more than most people think. They really did a good job on the soundtrack on the game. The full soundtrack some of it gets reused for different events and things but its because they dont need to do anything different when you have a song that sends the message of despair along with the scene or of hope when you see reinforcements come in.

Wait until she hears Nihilister theme, through the whole battle the ost tells you there no hope no tomorrow and that you're about to die ☠️

The story is very good if you can get past the whole booty and fan service/cultured part of the game. I know you liked PGR so it has its sad and dark tone moments in the story in NIKKE as well. Best way I could describe it is these characters are NIKKE that I could compare to Nier Automata as Androids that are fighting against "Raptures" that I suppose you could say are robots, but its more complicated than that also without spoiling much. But you are sort of on the right path on they are like fighting against "robots" and what is left of the humans left to protect them & to stop the Raptures. But can completely understand it is not for everyone considering its theme. But it is one of my main gachas as it does help that the Union Raid (Union being guilds) so I'm in a fairly competitive community for that are very active. As for the music I love the music some of them gives me Nier Automata vibes although none of the ones you listened to on this video and they did collab with Nier before. Been recommended you by YT for awhile, so was time I commented & subscribed! 💖

Honestly went into the game for the lewd stuff but stayed for the awesome soundtrack and story. I was surprised how dark it could get honestly. Some events hooked me too, like the anniversary story and characters are what made me start the game :)

I don’t play the game, respectfully I tried it and didn’t like it but I won’t lie the ost kinda makes me want to try again just to fight the bosses with their OST. Could probably go on the search for behind the scene stuff, but TuNGSTen is more or less a nod to the initial Pilgrims (as shown on screen) since they are the group who was never welcomed back home with a nearly impossible to complete mission. It works especially well for Snow White who would be prone to use the metal alloy a whole bunch as she crafts up a storm. Funny you feel uplifted from Satellite (and to some extent Red Hood) as Overzone and Red Ash are notoriously harsh emotionally coated scenarios. The Red Hood is practically an introduction for Red Hood (the character). Satellite, while it has Dorothy on the thumbnail is ironically kind of a Snow White song again (somewhat, more of the 4 of them present really).

Nikke ost is filled with soo much passion behind, im glad you like it, another games ost i reccomend are this ones -counterside -girls frontline -blue Archive I hope you consider it, have a great day/afternoon/night

They are Cyborgs, part human part machine, there's an actual reason why all of them are female as well, the robot invasion happened long time ago and wiped out most humans, only a few managed to escape into an underground secret city, by the time the technology to make those "super soldiers" was developed to fight against the invading robots almost all the male population was wiped out since they were the ones that were sent to fight the robots, on top of it, the process failed on males because it caused them to get very aggressive for some reason, so in the end only females became "Nikkes"

I went into this back when it was released, only thinking about having fun with all the boobas but..... to my surprise they broke my soul and I loved it

To give a basic overview of the setting, a mysterious force of machines called the Raptures one day invaded and declared war on mankind, and mankind is losing badly. Reduced to a single underground urban complex named the Ark, humanity's last hope of defeating the Raptures lies with the nikkes: robotic supersoldiers with the only organic part remaining being their brain. that are sent on operations to the surface in squads under the leadership of a human commander (our player character being one of these). As if the overall situation wasn't bad enough, the society of the Ark also isn't the best. The main concern of the Ark's Central Government appears to be fueling the war machine. If you volunteer for the Nikke Program there's a pretty big chance that you just end up as a mass-produced unit who doesn't even remember her own name and is gonna be used for whatever the government needs, be it cannon fodder or a test subject for research. Commanders aren't much better, being given only one year of training where they're indocrinated to believe that they're humanity's last hope while being treated as little more than glorified mercenaries after entering service.

For Tungsten, while 'Fictitious' can certainly mean something along the lines of 'being imaginary', it could also mean something along the lines of 'Fake or Imitation'. This is due to the fact that Nikkes are not considered real people and are viewed as war machines.

Ma'am, if you like good story, underneath all that booty, it's got a VERY engaging story, and I think it might just be up your angle. Game is F2P friendly and the Nikke community is very welcoming. Cosmograph is a god among music composers, he sees music as this fun thing you play around with to create fun and engaing themes. Apparently he was a big name in the osu! community back then and it makes sense. He's made so many bangers!

Hopefull song Freaking dark depressing story

Robots? Close. Think of a cross between the Cybermen from Doctor Who and the cybernetic organisms from Terminator 1 & 2. With an in-lore reason why the Nikke's are only women. The game can be angsty, depressing in a good way, and very wholesome. I'd recommend it for the actual plot and side stories.

My favorite Nikke songs are "We're Never Giving Up" and "A.C.P.U.! FREEZE!"

Idk if youd play the game but this game is amazing tbh. there is also in game short animated scenes if you dont plan to play id recommend watching Red Ashes animation or chapter 18's animation. Both are 2 of my favorites. But if you plan to play. (first of all GL) and second the story isnt usually happy outside certain side events.

The relationship between the main character (who may as well be a self-insert) and the Nikkes: The first thing you'll realize is that yes, this setting is going with the "basic decency makes you a startling contrast to every human they usually come into contact with". You then slowly start accumulating hints as to why for a lot of other people displaying basic decency may not be such a natural choice. It works out for you simply because you have enough plot armor.
