BierTier explains EVERY VENT/GEYSER/VOLCANO!
I figured it is time to make my own version of a every vent, geyser and volcano tamer series. In Pt.2 we continue with EVERY VULCANO(except niobium) and the HYDROGEN VENT! I also show off the 3 different DEVELOPER TOOLS, which come in really handy for those kinds of videos! Enjoy :)

ABOUT OXYGEN NOT INCLUDED:
In the space-colony simulation game Oxygen Not Included you’ll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth, and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Build Extensive Bases and Discover What it Takes to Survive:
Everything in your space colony is under your control, from excavation and resource allocation right down to plumbing and power systems. Resources will begin depleting with your first breath, however, so be sure to dig fast if you want to live.
Avoid Boiling with Thermodynamics:
Temperature control is a constant concern in space; too cold and you'll freeze, too hot and you'll fry. Keep tabs on ambient environmental temperatures and your colony's heat production to maintain a nice, cozy atmosphere for your colonists.
Enhance Efficiency through Complex Gas and Liquid Simulations:
Create interlocking pipe systems to swiftly deliver fuel and liquid to critical areas of your base. Plan well and be rewarded as your colony transforms into an imperishable, well-oiled machine.
Take Charge with Power Grid Simulations:
Choose from a multitude of power sources including coal, hydrogen, natural gas, or just plain old elbow grease. Manage power runoff, circuit overloads, and meltdowns to keep your colony running smoothly.

Although in term of simplicity your design is easy to understand, you could increase efficiency further by let's the metal circulate around in stream room and then exchange the heat with water from turbine then start cooling loop

Your hydrogen infinite storage has a future problem of liquid boil off if you don't use something with a >275c stage change temp. You're using water (100c) in the example but have the pumps triggering at 150c.

You are absolutely correct, the gas needs to be cooled down more or a different medium than water has to be used(crude oil or petroleum for example). The infinite storage I used in the video is just for the sake of getting the gas "somewhere". I could have just vented it out into space. All peripheral builds are really to be ignored, the focus should be on the actual tamer. Good eye though, thanks for the heads up ;)

Its a good setup man, i really like ure videos, its really informative. Be creative and keep up! In my opinion its a power negative process. If u cool down the very hot(1500c~) solid material with conveyor rail in the volcano chamber, then send to the really (30c) “cold “ area, u get more power. And its an easy modyf:)

Thank, I appreciate it! That is a good idea to first have it go through the Volcano chamber, should give more energy, you are right. Would have to test a setup to have it go through there only once!

@@BierTier Also you can use a loop instead of outputting the material back in the room. There's no point in having the sweeper load the same material twice.

@@BierTierFor many of them, you can use the top room, the turbine rooms, to cool down the metal. I have a cobalt volcano tamer that has two rail loops. One in the steam chamber (where the volcano is), to bring cobalt to

Every now and then (between eruptions), I just switch the sensor from above to below, and it goes to my storage with the rest, remember to switch it back.

Yeah, that's the best way to go about that. Just when it doesn't erupt switch the conveyor separator over and empty it out that way. But other than that, the concept is insanely simple and just works, haha :)

Also had the same issue when I was using ice delivered to conveyor loaders to melt away my Rime ice.

Does the vulcanoes tamer require external power?

From a theoretical standpoint it can power itself. Just add a large power transformer. I personally would hook it up to your main power, just to be save and also use the excess power for the rest of your base. There is a lot of extra power when the Thermo Aqua tuner is off and some excess when it is on.

You are using a cooling rail loop to cool the metals in a separate place and those who are not cool enough are going back to the volcano to increase in temperature again??? This build certainly works but with 0 efficiency and too much wasted energy. I use a rail loop to rotate the metals inside the steam room until their temperature is around 130 degrees and then I move them to a cooling box and rotate them until they reach room temperature and sent them to storage. That way I can cool a variety of all metal volcanoes (2 cobalt, 2 gold and one aluminum) in an asteroid (5 in my case) plus cool the cooling box with a single aqua tuner with polluted water in the pipes. That way I cool everything in the most efficient way using compact volcano tamer designs and end up with more energy than I am spending.

This video will get an update soon, in my Let's Play I do it the same way you are describing it. I used to cool everything with fluids and ignored metal tiles. There is definitely a better mousetrap.

@@BierTier Good to hear! I m looking forward to it! Since you are doing ONI explained videos, would you consider making one about tempshift plate materials? It's a really confusing topic since different materials need to be used for different situations. For example, I ve been told that they can be used for temperature storage too (correct me if I am wrong) and that dirt TP should be used for storing cold and igneous TP for storing heat but I don't know why.

Absolutely, whenever I figure out or learn about a better way, I can’t just leave the old version by themselves. As you said, it works, but it’s not optimal. I can definitely take a look at Tempshift plates in the future, I will put it on my list of topics. Thanks for the suggestion!

@@colecook834 You can find your savefile with this link in case you need it for all operating systems: oxygennotincluded.fandom.com/wiki/Save_file_locations#:~:text=The%20location%20of%20the%20game's,%2FApplication%5C%20Support%2Funity. For the seed alone just open your menu with ESC and it will be shown on the very bottom beneath "Quit to Desktop". That is your seed :)
