A few years ago I just got home and got out of my car. My neighbor up the street was out walking his German Shepard and they were on their way home, and the dog was not on a leash. Suddenly, the German Shepard charged right at me, and I was a bit worried. However, the dog jumped up and placed his front paws on my shoulders and immediately started licking my face. It was seriously a very touching moment in my life.

"super intelligent" yeah, well, there are reasons why German Shepherds is the most used breed in police K9 units. They're aggresive, intelligent, strong, agile, fast, etc. But their soft side can melt ice-cold hearts. Truly an impressive breed. Need extra activities though, cause they hate doing nothing.

I never thought I would be the mamma to a German Shepherd. Now I can't imagine my life without him. He is literally the best thing that has ever happened to me. Yup! All 3 of ours are just the same. Even down to leaving you a water trail to mop up after drinking water. I adore the loyalty and unconditional love they give too. Got to love them!!

German shepherds are so adorable! We have one home; I can definitely relate, she’s a girl but she hates water. Every time I open the hose she’ll think that I’ll give her a shower, and she runs away.

0:30 I taught my Shepard where on the bed not to lie by just lying down right on top of him. After a moment or two of annoyed smothering, he moved. He would budge when he realized I wouldn't, Did this every time he tried. So he stopped sleeping in my spot. He tried being smart and laying down on top of me in return. But I'm 3x his size and weight, so it didn't bother me at all 😂. He gave up and started sleeping next to me like a good doggo. Still a furry 80 pound cuddle bug. He's my alltime favorite puppy! Not everything can be, or needs to be, taught using words. We are truely blessed to have such wonderful creatures to call "Man's Best Friend"! Love you Rooster!

I have a ten year old shepherd mix that Was a rescue I adopted at 7 weeks. He is my heart & soul. I never knew I could have such an amazing bond with this wonderful animal. And he does look into my soul. The loyalty, unconditional love and intelligence he has is beyond words. He survived a bleeding splenic mass 2 years ago and now has 2 large masses in his abdomen and on his liver. He is doing amazingly well. I know his days are numbered and I will miss him terribly. The love we have shared has been worth every minute. ❤️

Thumbs up, you got it! Our Gs was only five weeks old and was really sluggish until about 6 months. Then we took her to be spaded, the vet said she had a bad abdominal infection and had he not did her surgery, she may have died in less than a year old. Damned breeder didn’t keep the best of clean area for the mom and pups. But, she got better, lived to let us enjoy her for nine great years. Highly intelligent, learns words fast, hand signals fast, very protective of my wife and I. By keeping her a house dog, sheds year round, some dander, hated furniture changes, especially her “watch out window space”, but, I love that dog som much. Best wishes to any and all G.Sheppard owners!

Just had to put my belgian shepherd rescue down, had him for 13 years. Loved that guy, he had such a gentle, loving personality like many shepherds. My next one will most likely be another shepherd, very intelligent dogs.

I have a dog that has some german shepherd, i think 33-50% and some golden retriever. I can vouch for all of these things. Every place is coated in a small layer of black hairs especially in shedtember. And yes, they follow you everywhere 😊

I rescued a very skinny scared German Shephard husky mix from KCPP 2 years ago. They knew nothing about him other then they got him 2 hours before I adopted him from St Lewis MO. He is the best dog ever!! So sweet funny and loving. When I was tboned last April by a Ford 250 pick up truck who ran a red light he was always by my side like his love would cure me.

German shepherds are highly intelligent and are very loyal loving dogs as well as all dogs and pets are. I raised 6 motherless pups left in my care a year ago from when they were only 25 days old. It was very hard work lilet having 6 squealing babies to manage.. From their food to exercise to meficines n sponges and all the teething n bites too.😉 WHAT a pleasure it was to watch them grow into healthy fat boisterous pups! Each with their own personality traits. Nothing so wonderful as dogs n animals!☺

We had GSD when I was a small child in the 60s 1 was brindle and was called kizar and the other was a golden one called zom. He could count to 3 Then as a teenager we inherited Kay a beautiful long haired GSD who loved to peel and eat oranges x

Many years ago, I got an German Shepard - Colli Mix, never met a Dog like this again, smart, kids loving (much). I don't give her much education, but she never did anything wrong. And she protects me. ♥️

My old German Shepherd Koda was a trip. She died of a tumor. She was always playfully vocal, but mainly quiet, observant and loyal. She was jet black and 80 pounds so kids were scared of her at the park. Whenever she would sense they were scared to approach her she would flip over and do her Koda Dance which is when she would just wiggle her head and butt opposite ways while letting her tongue flap around everywhere. Then the kids would swarm her and rub her belly. I think the best memory I have about how weird she was is that she wouldn’t eat human food too often. She liked deli meat and I gave her steak or chicken on her birthdays but she did this thing where I would get her tater tots from Sonic and she would eat the dog food around them. She hated fried foods 😂. German shepherds are amazing companions. Tearing up thinking of all the good she brought to the world. Nothing beats having a dog that bounds towards you from 200 yards when you yell their name. Love the video man. EDIT: She was also obsessed with steamed broccoli with a smidge of butter, just like I am!!! We would eat separate bowls together.

My shepherd is named buddy and I can confirm ALL of these traits lol. Esp laying in front of the door, stealing your ball or taking giant sticks, but making you chase him. Loves digging. Loves the water, (unless it's bath time) and he's so freakn cute❤ everything on the list matches
