Germinal: Precision Platforming Perfection (Review)

Germinal is a precision platformer game that was inspired by celeste, you will tackle hundreds of fantastic rooms, collect ebb tabs (whatever they are) and help Greg overcome his Mysophobia. Overall it is a really great game with it's two biggest strengths of gameplay and story working in harmony with one another.
Music used:
- Tropicala - Stardew Valley
- Starshine Beach Galaxy - Super Mario Galaxy
- First Steps - Celeste
- Twinlead Town (Day) - Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
- Home - Undertale

Heyo, one of the devs here. Thank you very much for the kind words. With the frequent, let say, unhelpful remarks about our game being just another celeste copy, we really appreciate you taking the time to review the game fairly. While its unlikely to make it into germinal, your feedback will certainly help us make the next game that much better. Before I see myself out, have this fun fact: The Collectibles are indeed based on tide pods :D

Hey, thank you for the comment! After doing a little research for the video I saw a lot of those unhelpful comments, but while playing the game I very soon realised that Germinal has so many fantastic things that let it stand out on its own! I am still finding lots of little secrets while I do some collectable/ achievement hunting for the game! :D - Looking forward to your future projects!

Strange upload time, I know! Easter was a little busier than I thought it would be, but I wanted to get this one out ASAP so that I can work on the next one straight away for Sunday! If you enjoy platformer games, I'd really recommend giving Germinal a shot!

I did some messing about with it while recording some extra bits of footage and I think it is using X (hover) while on the ground and C (jump) immediately after! Was really fun jumping around at high speeds, I can’t wait to see some speed runs of this game :)

nice video ! this game looks quite polished and the story sounds interesting. I wouldnt say it's a celeste clone because that implies lazy dev trying to make money from other ppls property. But u cant deny its heavily inspired by celeste in pretty much every aspect. If people make more games like this i wouldnt be surprised if it will be called celeste-like (similar to soulslike)

Thank you! Yeah, I think ‘celeste-like’ is gonna be a term we start to hear more and more since a lot of games were inspired by it - Which is really exciting for me because I love the gameplay of celeste!
