Come thrifting with Suki and I. I'm also excited to share many pieces I've found over the past couple of months with you all. I share some of the brands I keep and eye out for and some tips on what I look for when thrifting.

I would love to see more of your entertaining pieces ! Yes, please. And the rectangular napkin holder is for the bathroom - for individual disposable “towels” after guests wash their hands. More sanitary than all your guests using the same cloth towel. But of course, use it however you like. Great video ! 🩷💚

Small knives, forks and spoons are for a charcuterie board. Knives for cheeses, spoons for sauces or jellies, forks for pickles and olives. Perfect little set, Melba! You truly have a great eye for spotting quality pieces! And you’re fun! Thanks for sharing.

You can melt the candle and make a new one. Its really easy and inexpensive. Please share your entertainment cabinet and other thrift items with us. Happy holidays!

I'd say the little two-prong forks are pickle forks. Just made some delicious olive bread and those forks would work for olives too. It's such fun to see your excitement with all the great purchases. You remain the title holder, Best Eagle Eye in the Land!

@@MelbaMakes I found the recipe from a channel called Artisan Bread with Steve. He shows how to make no-knead breads, and every one I've tried has been spectacular. Easy and delicious.

I think the small knives, forks, and spoons are used as servers. I have the forks and add them to a divided tray to serve such things as tiny pickles and olives. The knives might go on the side of a bread plate to spread butter. The spoons could serve jam, etc.

Of course, I'd love to see all your entertaining pieces. I can't believe you passed on the Waterford bud vase, lol. I love silver and brass, a little different, I guess, but I use them for different occasions. Silver for bridal showers and more formal occasions. There's something about pink shades of roses with silver that I love. I enjoy the warmth that brass brings to decorating. I use it for Thanksgiving and Christmas. You probably know this trick. Bring a magnet with you when you're thrifting. It won't stick to brass. I love silk! You're right about the different weights. I have a silk blouse I bought 30 years ago that still looks new and is much better quality than the newer purchases. Lovely video, as always. Take care, Linda 🦋

Hi Linda! 🤗 thanks for the feedback on the entertaining video idea. The bud vase wasn’t Waterford (at least not from what I could tell, did I miss the etching on it?! lol). It was crystal and I still can’t stop thinking about it 😂 It’s helpful to hear how you incorporate silver in your decor! I hope it’s okay that I give your styling technique a try - silver and pink roses sound SO pretty! As you know, I am also a fan of brass but silver is a material I am less familiar with so I look forward to picking something up at some point that I can style in a new way! GREAT tip with the magnet. I don’t carry one but will be dropping one into my purse for my trips, thank you! I hope you enjoy one of your silk tops this holiday season. The cutlery you have - the forks are definitely for seafood. The knives are for butter (to take from the serving piece to your plate unless you are very posh and every guest gets their own). The spoons are for a sugar bowl. The Kromex serving piece - my parents received a two tier version of that exact style as a 25th anniversary gift back in the late '60's. We used it a lot for asst treats on special occasions. Once again - you do videos on anything you like - we will watch!

The small forks, knives, and spoons work well on charcuterie boards in jellies, spreads, in a block of cheese, and in olives, pickles….etc….you get the idea! 😉 Also, I can chutneys, jams,salsas, etc and give as gifts. Attaching a piece of cutlery to homemade jar of goodness wrapped in a pretty cellulose bag with ribbon always looks special.

You might not wanna project, but if you put that candle that the wick pulled out of into a double broiler and melt the candle, you can pour it over a mold with the wick in the bottom, and let it harden again!

Most of the vintage glasses and plates she showed in the thrift store are known to test high for lead. Look up everything you thrift if you’re planning to eat off of it, especially if your kids will be eating off of it

You need three to make a collection and if the glass has a polished bottom it likely was made in Murano

Your stemless wine glasses are pronounced “reedel, not rydel”. Riedel is a German wine glass company. As such, when the spelling is “ie” the “e” is dominant. If the word is spelled “ei” then the “i” is dominant.
