Louis Sanderson I use two HRD III's in stereo with Strymons into the front ends. It's just too damn loud. I don't perform atm, so I want to sell them and buy a decent tube pre, fed into a Torpedo CAB and then into the Strymons and then stereo into my interface, with mono being the right Strymon preset and a mono DAW track away.

Probably the only way they could make the mic placement better is that they would add a screen where it says the distance in centimeters or inches and you could easily tweak by increasing or decreasing the distance microns of cm/inch instead of trying to place it with your mouse. That included, this Torpedo Live is insane and I look forward to saving up for it. Just have to buy "another" guitar first ;)

Can you utilize all of the cabs in the wall of sound plugin for post editing, or are they only available (included with the unit) in the remote software?

I think this is a great piece of tech, but I really wish it had a built in attenuator. I know the Reload has one but it doesn't have the on-board processing like the Live does. My main amp is a Dual Rectifier (which has a terrible FX loop) so I'm gonna have to go with a Fryette Power Station over the Reload... just for the FX loop.
@anthonyknight51147 жыл бұрын
+Rebea Massaad Dude, I'm amazed at how great that tone is. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!!! I have a Torpedo Live and run a Dual Rectifier through it, but the tone just sucks. It sounds dull, lifeless, and very dark. I'm figuring I'm doing something wrong or not using the right brand/quality cables because your tone and other's that I've heard is so monstrous. If you have any insight to share in regards to this, you would be saving my ass! Cheers!

I have a Schecter 8 string, a Peavey 5150 II that I run through a Two Notes Captor loadbox, into my UMC Behringer USB interface. The amp sound on its own is fine, but as soon as I run IR's or Wall of Sound on any cab, even the dedicated metal ones, the gtrs sound boxy, 2dimensional and flat and lack that dynamism everyone else seems to be getting. What's wrong ?

Hi Rabea Maybe you can help me. My audio interface does not have the direct monitoring function. Is that the reason why my guitar sound in the daw sounds only like the pure amp out signal and I really don‘t hear a difference when changing cabinets in the wall of sound plugin? Thank you

Just quick query. Say for instance I had a Line 6 POD (V 2.0), would it be possible to insert the Line 6 POD directly in to an audio interface insert (in this case a Clarett Pre 2), whilst remedied by a Torpedo Wall of Sound 3 cabinet in Logic Pro 10?
@jonashorney39429 жыл бұрын
Since (as far as i'm able to see) it just says p. amp in the remote software and all listed tubes in the drop down are power amp valves i'd say that it probably is about simulating a poweramp section. despite that - great video, mate, keep 'em coming (especially those "home" setting type of videos). Greetings from good old rainy Germany, Cheers! :)

In the manual and for studio setup. it says you need to connect the S/Pdif output to the audio interface. Do you need to use this output to get the digital simulated sound? I dont have SPdif input in my interface and dont want to buy a new one if it not essential.

These are nice. The new Amplitube that just came out pretty much copied it. It sounds amazing, using their cabs from your real amp. It's nothing like the last Amplitube 3. The Mesa amp models are really nice too. I quit miking a cab a long time ago. The new one will let you put two Sm57's on any speaker, and then a condenser as well. You can also have 4 different speakers in one cab. The orange cab with different flavors of V30's is really nice. It has multiple rooms and you can move the mic stand around like this. The Engl Powerball and Mesa Mark IV are the best I've found on there. The Mesa 4x12 and Orange 4x12, SM57, one on axis, one off axis, and then a Ribbon mic on the upper right speaker. If you tried amplitube 3 and didn't like it, check out 4. It came out like a month ago I think. It's extremely impressive.

hey bea! you've mentioned about the "preamp" section of the unit/software, isn't that supposed to be the "power" section, for as far as I'm concerned no preamp utility is loaded into the unit. I have the stomp-box version, Torpedo C.A.B., and it is definitely killer.

People should note: the Torpedo Live is fab, but if you're only going to be using it for home recording you can get exactly the same thing in software form, Torpedo Wall Of Sound, for as little as £15(!!!). Basically the software is free, and you have to pay €8 per cab, and you have to buy two cabs to use it after 30 days. Which works out about £15.

Hey, Bea, this is a serious question. I'm a 15 year old American who is aspiring to make a living off of music (guitar), and I beleive the kind of music I'll be doing is similar to yours and Rob's. My question is that is it truly obtainable to live off of your talent, and if so where? Is Brighton the most ideal place, are there any places in America where I can go to? I hope I have enough talent (I'm told that I'm good by plenty of friends and family and I play every day for hours by practicing and doing covers and writing cool riffs), and talent should be half the battle, I'd assume. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Big fan and you're a HUGE inspiration!!

Hey bassopin, glad to see a youngin so passionate about creating music! If I may be so bold.... first, create a unique sound for your self, start posting some of your original material while mixing in a few product demos, how to, tips and tricks, even maintenance routines you stick to. Do a little tour of your studio, your gear, recording platform. Get your face and personality on you tube, but make sure what you post is your final, polished product. You would do yourself a big favor by checking out almost everything posted by "Keith Merrow" he started as customer service rep. For I think a pool company, friends and family convinced him to post some of his music, and he blew up, now he works for Seymore Duncan, plays with jeff loomis, alex rudinger, and alex webster, plus countless other artists in various ways. Just get your music out on social media, see what people like.... and go! Best of luck man! Be well.

Have you ever tried the Palmer PDI-03, doesn't seem as versatile but was wondering which you felt was more natural to play through if you had tried one. In terms of amount of different sounds you could get the Torpedo live seems like the better option, however the Palmer does seem idiot proof, which I like.
@kajetanwysoczynski21169 жыл бұрын
