Hey Meghan ! Something i have started doing with my 4 year old is setting a timer for uninterrupted one on one time JUST to focus on him for a half hour. I really try not to get up or do anything else, no phone near by just fully focused on playing whatever he wants. It is fantastic for bonding and connection and helping them to feel loved and special !! I think it's usually the simple things and quality time that means the most 🥰 you're such an amazing mom ! Hi Megan. Your children are so precious. I taught preschool for years and there are soooo many fun things you could do with Fletcher. Paper plate puppets, potato stampers (carve a design into half a potato, dip it in paint and create pictures), gather fall leaves and press them between sheets of waxed paper, choose a 'letter of the day' and find things or draw things starting with that letter (you can do the same with colors or shapes too), tie dye or use fabric paint to design a t-shirt, get a cute cup from the Dollar Tree and decorate it. Just a few off the top of my head. There are tons of other ideas. I love your channel. 🌞🌺🙏

I used to take mine to the public library for story time. They always had a craft afterwards. Barnes and Noble always had a great story time with crafts and then ours had a Starbucks inside. All the kids from story time got a free cookie and a $1 chocolate milk.

Tip with lunch boxes and backpacks, throw them in the wash. I am a student and work at a school. Washing my bags a couple times a month keeps them looking decent and cuts down on germs.

I feel the exact way about sending my 4 year old to school. My husband really wants our children to experience school the way we did but I feel unsure about it. We want so badly to send our daughter to the local Christian school because that’s what kind of school I went to and thrived in it, but unfortunately we just can’t afford it. But God will find a way to get us to where we’re supposed to go, that’s what I keep reminding myself. His will, will be done. Thank you so much for sharing your heart❤

It's that time of year again- back to school. My kids started school yesterday- a bittersweet day for us moms. Always looking for new ideas for the kiddos breakfasts to speed things up in the morning. I'm a fan of batch breakfast cooking- so we can grab and go and get out the door on time! This brought back such sweet memories of our early school days. I have a junior in high school who also starts vo-tech school today & an 8th grader. Maybe take Fletcher for a train ride just the two of you. Lunch at McDonald’s or ride bikes together and have a picnic lunch just the two of you! To a kid it’s really just the special times together that makes them feel special ❤

I love when you have a new video!! Being the mother of 2 (now grown sons who are teachers) and grandmother to 4 boys and 2 girls, I will tell you that a special time with boys is doing all the boy stuff. Throwing rocks into water, playing in a sand pile with trucks and cars, wrestling with dad, hammering nails into wood, piling up sticks at a park, jumping off slides/swings at playgrounds, digging in the dirt, playing in water/puddles. However, I did enjoy teaching how to throw clothes in the washer/dryer, doing dishes, mopping the floor (just use water), dusting, vacuuming, all the house chores. They just love getting to do something with a tool or broom or mop. You are a smart woman/wife/mama, you will figure it out!! Our boys went to a Catholic school...it was not perfect either. But they did strive to be perfect. And we felt so good that God could be talked about and their faith could be incorporated into all of their lessons. Nothing is perfect. Our sons teach at public schools and they too strive to be the best teachers. Your closet looks fine....after all, you do live there! LOL Thank you for sharing your lovely family!

I was the middle one and never had one on one time with my mom and dad singly or together. That would be special. Also if there is any construction going on around you. Take a picnic lunch and have them watch the men at work. My oldest son loved that. It would entertain him for a long time😊He also loved dumping stuff off at the city dump and he loved driving by the junked car lots😊

My youngest is 18 and graduated. During different seasons of life my 4 did some combination of home, public, and private school. No method of education is perfect and each was a blessing to us in it's own way.

A year of playing skillfully was such a fun preschool curriculum to do. We absolutely loved it and it would be a great way to occupy the "left behind" preschooler.

You are doing great Megan. Mom of 7 here with five of them being boys. A thought I have, yes your daughter is the oldest, but your son is the first boy. That will always hold a special place and the things he does because of that will naturally make him feel special. Time spent with him like you do is the best thing. One thing my boys remember and still talk about as something they loved is when I sewed whatever idea they came up with. For example: they drew a picture and I tried to sew the “creature” they drew, or I would sew a sleeping bag for their guy or stuffed animal. They thought it was amazing. 😁😂

Megan, have you considered doing both? Homeschooling is most important or beneficial when they’re young. They can always go to school when they’re older if they want. That’s what we’ve done with our kids.

Those planners are very important. I use one for myself that I got at 5 Below. I have one for work as well and one for my quiet time.

For Fletcher, how about organizing some themed projects/explorations where he can be actively involved and engaged? An example: a construction theme. Visit the library and gather some books on building, construction, and houses. Then gather up some large and small boxes and let Fletcher plan and create his own building in the garage? Another theme could be dinosaurs- enjoy books and learning about all of the various dinosaurs and then get “dirty” creating fossils using mud, plaster, and various found objects. Fletcher gets special attention from you, plus he’s learning and being actively involved in subjects that may appeal to him.

My 13 year old daughter will be starting 8th grade this week the last year of Jr. High! I just wiped out her lunch box this morning! She wanted to use the same back pack from last year so I just had to stitch up the straps a bit since she has so much stuff in it and does like to use the locker they provide!
