Great channel. Pro tip: when you can afford it, get a good lapel microphone. As far as the QSL cards, they are loads of fun. Back in the day when I started in the 70s, it was the norm to mail QSLs to contacts. Today it is much rarer. I now send E-QSLs via email using N1ET's software. Unfortunately there are a few grumpy hams who can't resist shooting back an email "don't send me any more cards!" instead of simply putting it in their spam folder. As a young ham, please don't be discouraged by angry boomers. I'm sure you've encountered them. They are what is wrong with ham radio today. Instead, keep doing what you're doing! Learning, experimenting and informing. That is the spirit of amateur radio. 73 de Scott W1AL (age 63 lol)

Thank you very much for your kind words Scott. I have recently upgraded my camera and a microphone is next on the list. I myself like LoTW or QRZ, but I send cards back if I get one.

Got Print is one of the very few places that will do 5.5" x 3.5" cards.

Great info. You prefer the envelope instead of formatting for sending with a postcard rate stamp on them? Not even sure what the savings is these days :)

Honestly I hadn't even thought about it. But yeah I guess you would save some money without the envelope. Might give it a try.

Great video Billy. I agree with Kinetic79. I rather have a post card format and save one the price of postage and avoid the cost of the envelope.

I'm new to Gimp. When I try to open any of the .XCF files I get an error. "Front.xcf failed: GIMP XCF image plug-in could not open image" Thank you, Tom

I'm also getting an error in Windows when I try to install the .ttf fonts. It says the file is not a valid font.

Not cheap. Here in Croatia, 18-19€ for 1.000 QSL cards, same quality, front side full collor, back side black and white etc. Shipping is free.

It's cheaper to send a postcard than a letter, @@ModernHam. As other commenters suggested, format it as a postcard with space for both addresses
