FILM DESCRIPTION:
Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.

She has an upbeat, innocent, almost teenage way of luring people in. The second the ruse is over: hair up, white button down shirt, zero emotion. Rose is the most sadistic and messed up out of the whole family.

I think that's when he grows suspicious, but 1:34 is when he goes "Oh, of course." You can see in the way his final "where are those keys" isn't a question and lacks the urgency he had just seconds ago, he knows the answer and he's over it.

Anand Baburajan They each have ways of wrangling black people. Rose's takes longer but it's just as effective. Still, in the dinner scene where we first met Jeremy he wanted to prove he could've taken him. Not just his sister.

The reason she did that was to keep her options open. If he were to get away, he would still trust her to some degree as long as she kept up her act. However, she knew that her gig was up, so she decided to stop. If I was her, I would have made one of the workers pretend to take me hostage, just in case. Always plan ahead, and be read for any situations - think of any counter measures.

I don't know why but I started tearing up when rose revealed herself and chris went to the sunken place. I was like "it's over for chris, he lost" also cried because he realized he'd been lied to and the love he shared with rose was never real. It's an emotional scene... thankfully chris got his revenge and it wasn't actually over for him. It was satisfying to see him kill them all.

Nice “blink and you’ll miss it” moment at 0:42. The first time Chris reminds Rose to look for the keys, she stopped moving her hand and moved her head to look at Armitage. Chris was extremely suspicious before that Rose wasn’t on his side when he saw the pictures, but this was the moment he realized he probably wasn’t getting those keys.

It's crazy coming back to this scene, I rmr I was on Rose's side to the very last second. She had me pulled in thinking she genuinely didn't know what was going on, until that moment where her whole face changed. Chilling stuff

this whole movie is so painful and one of the worst parts is how they’re being so casual laughing and chatting while chris feels like he’s slowly dying, but that just shows the phenomenal acting skills of this cast
