I can imagine that not all horses stand so calmly when their legs are shaved. But 15 horses in one day. That's a lot. I'm not sure if my hairdresser has 15 customers a day.

It’s always a pleasure to see the hands-on care that Yvonne and the others give the horses and ponies. There’s lots of love and attention to routine care, but also constant vigilance for injuries, illness, etc.

I am so glad to see you put masks on these horses. I asked a couple of years ago to get them for the horses at Stal G. Those horses were miserable with all of those flies. It's taken two years to get these on your own horses. Stal H hurrah! Thank you Yvonne. ❤

A salon day for Uniek, how nice Yvonne you take such wonderful care of her and all the Animals on the Farm. I hope you get a spa day once in a while for yourself. Love the fly masks. Those pesky monsters, the poor horses, have no way of swatting them off their eyes or face. Thank you. I think the horses like the spa moments. I don't like ik for myself, lol. For me, it's a waste of time 😱 do I say that... I'm always busy doing things every minute of the day when I'm awake. So it's hard for me to do 'nothing'... And yes, I go to physiotherapy, chiropractor, and things like that at this moment. Because of the pain in my body. That are my kind of spa moment, I think 😁 and riding horses of course! 🫶🏻 And I'm so glad I can do a lot again.

As I watched this, I thought how Uniek was so still like a statue until she moved her left leg. She was so good! Clopping 15 horses a day, wow. That must have been hard on the knees and back to say nothing about the patience with jittery horses.

@@iclynnx That's so common on the homeward part of a ride! It's not desirable, but it's awfully hard to do anything about. I rode at a terrible barn at first. Some of their horses would be very difficult to motivate going out, and a few would sometimes bolt home. They could even be unstoppable! The owner wasn't the greatest guy, or the greatest horseman. So we kids would go every day, and try to do what we could to enrich the horse's lives. But we didn't know much about training, or retraining. When I think back on the way those horses lived, I'm shocked by it! So I love to see people like this. So many people do love their horses so much! I love to see it! ❤❤❤

When horses are allowed to spend time just being horses they will get some bumps and scrapes. Loved Wunder in his fly mask even if he didn't love it so much, he will get used to it and even appreciate it😊

It's so nice to see feathered horses clipped neatly for turnout. So many draft horses in my area have leg problems becase theyre never took the time to get them used to leg handleing so they wont stand for clipping. Mites, milk leg and other problems are the result :(

Some people seen to think that clipping the feathers on the legs is heresy, but it does make it easier to keep the horse's legs dry and free from fungal infections during the wet season, as well as keeping their hooves dry, to preserve the strength of the horn.

@LeidolfLady Especially if you have many horses with heavily feathered legs, it's quite difficult to have the time to keep all of their legs nice and dry during the wet season. It can be done, but not if you have an entire Friesian stud farm to look after.

Oh, so sorry to hear about Aunt Ann. You think the CV triggered the mini stroke or just age-related? We have some cases out here; I just try to stay out of people's line of fire when they sneeze at Target or Trader Joe's. Get this: one guy was coughing and hacking so bad, I asked him to please cover his mouth. He said he has nothing contagious. We're all loaded with bad bacteria in our microbiomes. That had to be the oddest remark I've ever heard ~~ nobody has anything, lol!

Uniek is such a patient animal. Loved watching you work on her legs I could not tell how much you took off of the lower heel, but she still had nice feathers. And, that Wouder, he sure looked good in his fly screen, and as an adolescent , he looked like the king of the mountain out there in the pasture, but when Yvonne approached him, he acted so confident and unaffraid, just like a ‘big’ horse!😂😂. ♥️🤍💙♥️🥰😊😎♥️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Uniek's fetlock being "a bit thick" could be from edema caused by her mild arthritis. Had that with my baby but it never seems to completely go away.

I sure wish our pet dogs acted as well as Uniek does. I would have thought that the sound of the clippers would have scared her, but she just stands there so calm. Great job Uniek & Yvonne. :)

Good morning. The expression on your face while using the clippers was very cool. Queen👑Uniek knows exactly how to make it easier for you and feel better for her too. I felt a strong bond.🤠❤🐴 And I thought it was a great idea for Mathilde to come early and leave early if she had time. Everyone can enjoy the night time. 💃The kiss she gave Wunder was so loving and made me feel so happy.😃

Uniek has been well and truly pampered ❤ Those fly visors are a very good idea ! Heaven knows how many flies there have been through summer , in the uk too , I think it’s a combination of rain and warm weather they really have been quite horrible . So flies bite too …. Very painful if it’s near the eyes . ❤❤❤❤
