The DST WISE scholarship for Indian women in STEM fields is explained. Post graduate degree holders in science, mathematics and engineering can take advantage of this fellowship from the department of science and technology of the government of India to get a stipend and research grant and complete their doctorate degree in India. The scheme is especially targeted at currently unemployed Indian woman who have degrees such as MTech, M. Pharm, MSc or B.Tech.

@@nainashri3446 I think it typically will take a few months to complete the review process. The proposal may be sent to subject matter experts and then the selection committee will consider all these things and decide.

Hi Sir, I have not registered for PhD( 2020 passout, not qualified NET/GATE) , so what should I fill in for ‘department’, and ‘institution’ when applying for DST WISE Fellowship registration?

Sir does it make a big difference in our profile when we get govt sponsored fellowship rather than institutional fellowship….?

Not really. What matters is the quality of the PhD and any papers which may come from it. In some faculty job applications a competitive fellowship for PhD looks good but ultimately the papers and research of the person is more important. The guidelines mention that the cutoff date for age is the date on which you submit the application. So you can submit it the day after your 27th birthday and have it all ready before that. dst.gov.in/wise-fellowship-phd-wise-phd

@@Drganguli But sir if I will wait for my 27th birthday, two years of admission in PhD will be over. So can I apply right now for this fellowship ?

@@Pritikumari-xy5nb Read the link I sent in my previous email. It says 27 or more should be the age when the application is submitted. Government agencies cannot make any change in the rules so the applications which do not meet the criteria will be rejected. You can send email to dst for clarification as there may be other scholarships also they can recommend for you

Generally they give the results on their web page. You may also be informed by email or a letter. Check this page for example dst.gov.in/whatsnew/prize-awards
