When I went through my divorce, a friend suggested to me to do at least one kind thing for myself each day. Everyday I woke up and asked myself, “what am I going to do for myself today?” Whether it was lunch with a friend, a hike or massage, it gave me back just a bit of control when I felt completely out of control with shock and pain.

It's been a month since the biggest pain i've been through in my life. And I came back to this video to say to you all that are going through this: IT DOES GET BETTER. KEEP HANGING THERE. The quote “ I’m more valuable to people because of my heartbreak” hit me so hard. My heart hurts so much right now. But I need to make sure the other parts of myself are taken care of. You are a strong woman. I met a guy online and knew him only a brief time. But, the way I felt about him was like "where have you been all my life?" The worst part of the betrayal was being conned into giving money to him under false information. This is what is so hurtful. How do you heal from being deceived and manipulated? I really want to go on with my life and not think about this man anymore. Life has to get better for me. @@tana5098 Tana, I can feel you. Its hard to deal. Manipulation deceiving can be felt worst at times. But Remember, Your life is Precious. And Your Heart is the one that is you. The Heartbreak you had will heal and will find its way to pour into another heart that will truly value you. Remain strong and that is precious. It's been 3 months and I hope you are working on loving yourself and your heart is reflecting with being precious. Remember reflection of the heart of you resembles that you are being one. And being you is precious. Be happy. Now, all I want is good friendships with men and women, and remain cautious in getting to know others. As they say, people show you who they are by their actions, not their words. Being the trusting woman that I am means that I have to protect my heart and go slow. Otherwise, I get mistreated and end up falling apart. I think part of that healing journey also includes forgiveness. You can't be getting angry or trying to get revenge because that just makes it harder on you. Also don't contact your ex ever

Totally agree. Go no contact. Don't try to find out what he's doing or who he's seeing. It'll hurt even more. Also for those who didn't get closure from the other person, give yourself closure. Dated a guy for a few months and he was avoidant and scared of commitment so when he ended things, it was so abrupt and he just walked out of my house and didn't even bother to look at me in the face. I sent a closure text few days later to get all the stuff I have left unsaid to him as a closure for myself. He just thanked me for the last message and hope I'm doing well after 2 days. Sounds shallow, but that's him....he probably just sent that reply 'cause he felt guilty for leaving me in tears that day. Been a month since things ended and I'm slowly getting better.

@@Slimness33 well it is hard to go no contact. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts, but giving yourself space and time may get better and easier over time. I hope you got to say everything in the closure. It also helps to remember the feeling that he did not prioritize you, so it will bring you back to your decision to part ways.

If he did not reply, just remember that he is a coward for not even having the courtesy to show respect. You have to focus on yourself and know this person is not for you for a lifetime. You are enough and time will heal. You are not stuck only if you choose to be stuck. You were doing everything for yourself before you met this person so you will be ok again. You learned something about yourself with each person so you don't make the same mistakes and know what you don't want.

I'm having a difficult time getting over how attractive my ex was. I considered her the most beautiful person. However, she stressed me out so much, her mental health was not in a good spot, she didn't love herself. However, I need to realize that love is greater than attraction. I would rather be with someone that makes me happy than someone who is drop dead gorgeous. It's not all about what they look like, but how they make you feel. I'm practicing to make it perfectly clear in my head.

I've been on this journey for already 10 months. We broke up after a 4-year relationship and engagement. I made a huge mistake, apologized, but he didn't want to listen to anything and was only caring about getting revenge. A lot of hurtful words and actions were said and done, we got in contact every now and then by his initiative, finally the old wounds got reopened and the last conversation a few days ago was a point of no return. We used to be on speaking terms, now we have blocked each other and there is no way to apologize or forgive anymore. I feel like part of me has died. The connection was so strong - the strongest one for us both, we were true soulmates. But the person whom I spoke with after the break up was a different person, not the one I knew. It's difficult to accept, I don't know how to fill the void. They say time heals. This is now the only thing I can hold on to. It's been the most challenging time of my entire life and it still continues

My boyfriend of 4 years broke up with me out of the blue. In my last relationship I lost myself. He was a narcissist. He was emotionally brutal mentally destructive. I'm starting to finally find myself again. I realize. I'm am a good person I'm fun to be around. I'm very caring and very strong. So after me meeting ME again the next person is going to have competition. Not with other men,but with myself they need to show me and make me see that ANY time I take away from ME needs to be obvious and true. I just had a break up that felt like I was dying. It was a very long relationship. I have been allowing myself to go through the emotions. I never heard of you until this past Saturday. Your videos and what you say have tremendously helped me. I am a week fresh since the break up and still crying like a baby, but I feel that I am getting through it. I've been through other break ups, but man, this one takes the cake. I want to spend time alone and just do me and my things and create a new Tyson so that I am better for the next person that I allow into my life when I am ready. I am truly heartbroken. I know that this is going to take awhile to heal, but I know that I need to heal myself and work on me before I can move on. Emotions change.. that’s SO true. I am currently going through the awfulness after a break up and I do feel like when I see him with someone new I won’t survive it… BUT my previous boyfriend is now married with 2 kids and when I see them I am OK. 5 years ago, that would’ve sent me into a downward spiral, but not now. So please do remember the emotions change. And we all get through It eventually with patience and self kindness x

A lot of us focus on 'what's the best way to heal!' When really we need to be like 'How do I give the space to heal'. We have to remember that time heals emotional pain, not being angry at other people or getting under someone else. It's OK to hurt, that makes you human. I realised this during a recent breakup. I felt terrible, but when I looked at a photo of my son and I laughing, it reminded me that it won’t always feel that way. But I knew I had to engage with, process and feel the loss. I feel miles better now, just a couple of weeks later.

Time is what heals and there’s no way to speed through it. It’s a loss and it’s grieving. I just went through an awful heartbeat. My only advice would be to do everything you can to stay busy with your life throughout it. Unfortunately we have to endure that pain, but we definitely come out much stronger on the other side.

Going through a breakup now actually revealed the tools for me to start working on other parts of my past that are hurting. I’ve been depressed for 12 years and and my ex told me to seek help and work on myself quite often but I felt I didn’t have to. The breakup had me in tatters, but I couldn’t lie down. I HAD TO work my way through it. I don’t know if this is common with people who begin to transcend depression, that it’s like a second puberty. I didn’t really feel secure in myself up until now. I used to have libido problems and sex didn’t feel like anything to me. But it’s now three weeks into the breakup and I’m stronger than ever. My voice got deeper, my testicles and penis got heavier, I got more assertive, way more energetic, and I started to really appreciate the masculine men around me. It’s really a transforming force of nature, if you decide to take it on. I feel like I can punch a dragon down through the core of the earth. I became a man, and I’m grateful. Doesn’t stop me from crying sometimes. But yeah, it reveals how cool the healing process can be. Stay in there, my friend! Push through, become something beautiful.

I recommend getting your heart broken as often as physically possible. Get on…fall in love. Those tears are a part of the meditation process and the aching is a powerful indicator it’s working. So let that muscle swell with pride after working it so hard, because it is the evidence of the capacity you have to give it so generously. Thanks Matthew. I needed this. Identified with everything. I want him to see how much he's hurt me while he's out being blinded by another female and acting like he never knew me. I cannot even describe the pain. It doesn't feel like it's going to pass at all right now but what you guys said is encouraging. The words gym, party and self help are not appealing right now at all but I like the word gentle 😢😢 thank you 😊

I think this ties in really well to another video Matthew Hussey did -- about gaining confidence and getting over your insecurities. You have to make sure that you have other strong legs to stand on, so even if one leg of the table goes out, you will stay standing. Heartbreak is like an injury or like several of those legs breaking. But you have to keep building up and supporting the other "legs" of your life if you don't want to collapse.

My feelings changed within days. The betrayal was so spectacular, that I can never love him again. It's like a love homicide. -- he killed it for me. I'll never love him again, have respect for him, hold him in high regard, or any regard. Now, it's just an echo of the love I had for him. The colossal struggle is desperately trying to regain my equilibrium after being sucker-punched with the betrayal. Trying to stop blaming myself, stop telling myself I failed miserably in reading this other person, when I always excelled at observing and considering another's intentions, etc. Can't sleep, eat, and am wreck.

It never does though. No one ever felt the same, I never felt the same for anyone, never desired anyone the same, no one looked as beautiful as her to me. It’s just not the same and it’s been years

I broke it off however, I am the one that allowed the behavior in the first place. I'm am sad about the ending but thankful I stopped things before we became even more attached. Recognizing both of us were not ready was a gift I learned from my last heartbreak, the pain is valuable in learning. Thankful for the lesson and for the self love to get through this!

Sending you virtual hugs 🤗 I made this comment 2 months ago when I went through one of the worst times in my life but let me tell you right now it’s still very hard and I struggle daily but it gets better and better. I still have some bad days when I lie in bed all day and cry but they get less and less. I think the past 2 months have shown me that I can get through this. It will surely take its time but I will get fully over it. And at least I am not spending my life with the wrong person anymore.

Gosh i love this episode. I just roar with laughter. You guys are just so great! Honestly ... yes you are right "emotions change" "hair grows" . After my failed marriage then many years of being single, and now i'm old - this heartbreak was the worst I could ever imagine. I had no idea it could be like this. I sincerely thought he was the one - i was so wrong! I hear Matthew's in his voice on his face ... it guts me Matthew! I'm so sorry Matthew. No amount of prayer helped while i watch him with someone else every day ... emotions change ... yes please. now please!

2CrowsJoy, hi! It takes time to get over the hurt especially if you’re made to feel like a reject. However, don’t deny yourself episodes of crying and angry and feeling hurt. It’s ok. But, believe me, it gets better and better and better no matter what age a person is now after the heartaches. The highest form of love is self love. Once a person has attained this, the new romantic love comes trickling in. And it’s exciting. Thrilling. Beautiful. Inspiring. Better than any recreational substance even if I don’t use drugs. I hope everyone can reach the higher form of love, then the next, because then, the next relationship will be awesome! ;)

I think the hardest part is, wanting to take a break for your mental health but you have so many things going on from having school assignments, work, outings etc. It is so hard to focus on other things while you’re breaking on the inside

I agree when he said that it is better to have 1 problem of heart break than to wake up later with 6 more problems. I, unfortunately, fell into this scenario and truly wish I had moved on the 2nd time I walked away no matter how beautiful the love was... you cannot be happy with someone else if you cannot get past the more important values in your life.

Of course you are struggling to let go. He's calling you and saying that what he felt for you has been unmatched. How selfish of him to leave you for someone else and still enjoy knowing you still care for him and are still available to talk to. Stop talking to this fool and find someone who deserves your time and attention. Life is too short to agonize over someone who has made his choice and it's not you. I have been there sweetie and I know he's not worth your time and attention.
